Cheap, but Worth It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/07
We had a coupon to stay here for $40, we thought it had to be a dump. We were pleasantly surprised, nice staff, wireless access, ice machine, coffee maker in roof, even a fridge and TV (with cable) It is right across from the Old Kentucky Home state park, so in a pretty good location. Really, for $40, you can't go wrong.

CLEANEST MOTEL IN TOWN !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/07
THE OWNERS MR. & MRS M. PATEL CLEAN THE ROOMS THEM-SELVES. GREAT CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST, JUST ACROSS FROM THE STATE PARK, AND MC DONALDS 1/2 BLOCK AWAY, SUBWAY AND CONVENIENT STORE 1/2 BLOCK THE OTHER WAY. LAUNDRY MAT, AND PRINT SHOP ACROSS THE STREET. "STILL BILL'S" RESTAURANT 1/4 BLOCK IN BACK OF THE OLD BARDSTOWN INN. $40.00, AND THEY HAVE 2 JACUSSIE ROOMS ! OUTSIDE POOL IS GREAT FOR SUN TANNING, OR SWIMMING PARTY'S. IDEAL SPOT IN THE HEART OF EVERYTHING, STATE PARK GIFT SHOP LESS THAN ONE BLOCK. YOU WON'T BE SORRY, MANY OUT OF TOWN FAMILY MEMBERS TRAVEL HERE, FOR VISITS, FUNERALS, ETC. CLOSE TO "MY OLD KY HOME" GOLF COURSE ! SORRY FOR CAPS, I DIDN'T SEE RULES UNTIL DONE.

Goes above and beyond!!!
By , 05/05/07
We're from Anchorage, Alaska. My son & I became stranded in Bardstown (5/3/2007) and thank goodness we happened to be able to stay at this wonderful Inn. With no tranportation the owners went above and beyond what management should do to help us out of our bad situation that we had gotten ourself into so many miles away from home. They truely care about the people that stay at their Inn. Safe, clean, friendly. A great home away from home. Thank You so much for all your help. We'll mail you some Alaskan salmon as soon as we get back home. God Bless :o)

Good choice for $38 + tax
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/05
Motel was clean enough for the price. The staff could have been dressed more professionally, but were friendly. The motel is in a relatively nice area, right across from the Stephen Foster Home.

Love it or hate it...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/04
If you like rock bottom price, you'll love this place. If you want accomodations, you might look somewhere else:
1. The bed's mattresses were all worn out - you'd better sleep on the carpet, but then I can't vouch for the cleanliness of it.
2. The room's framed art included framed flies as well;
3. The bathroom seemed in tune with the historical nature of Bardstown - that is, it looked dated?
4. The continental breakfast, although quite diversified including such staples as peanut butter, strawberry jam, grape jelly, cream cheese and bagels, 2 types of cereals, was presented in bulk - it's okay to share the 8 oz. cream cheese container or the peanut butter jar at home, but not in a breakfast bar... Let's just say it did tame our enthusiasm.
As I said, if you're looking for an excursion (sort of indoor camping), this place is for you. For hotel/motel grade, it fell a little short. I do understand there's a cost of business involved in running a business: increase the room rates if need be, to fund proper accomodations to this well-located motel.
True, the innkeeper was courteous and well behaved - but we still would have enjoyed it better if we had had a proper sleeping quarter.
