Timing Bad This Time
By Catherine, 8/7/08
Checked in late and noticed the air wasn't working. Had to meet with relatives and left thermostat on lowest setting. Returned late with two small children. The valet only parking was blocked with some inconsiderate people and the attendant had not control over the traffic. After waiting someone finally decided to move so that we had access to the entrance in order to carry the small sleeping children in. The room was uncomfortably warm, fortunately we were able to open all the windows (no screens). It was too late to check out and find other accommodations with the children so I passed out on the full size bed. The next morning I hastily informed the front desk who told me they were aware (she herself was sweating at the desk) which they probably knew when I checked in. I requested a comp but was only given 1/2 off my stay. Room appeared to be clean but I wasn't there long enough to get a good look.

practically perfect,but English please
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/2/07
Stayed here twice in one week Feb 18th & 23rd,2007. Overheard management telling a group of staff members that they were a world class hotel with many competitors and they needed to maintain every nuance of a world class hotel. From everything I could see,the pep talk worked ! Staff was cheerful in person and very helpful, even by e-mail before we came (and had questions of how to do this & that..) Food was good (albeit slow in coming)and waiters very attentive at restaurant.Had a King room with sofa bed. Great bedgreat cotton sheets and comforters that did not shriek "starched".lots of towels and pillows. Wish there was a heater in the huge bathroom. You must pass thru sink, whirlpool tub & glass shower area to get to separate room for toilet, odd. Not something our teenage daughter wanted to do while her father was in the shower !They do claim to have foam & feather pillows, but all we found were feather & microfiber fill pillows. Elevators, vending & ice machines are set back off hallways and behind doors to keep noise down ! Place smelled new. Light blocking curtains did just that, but area with sofa bed had a 6ft or so section of wall that was glass blocks and had no curtain, so it was ultra bright all night, also a bit more plane noise in that area...as it is right next to the airport, but didn't hear too much noise in the king bedroom, especially with the unobtrusive heater/airconditioner on.Huge suite. Very clean.Breakfast was expansive but confusing in set up, asking questions of staff, they were helpful, but sometimes hard to understand. Had problem with shuttle driver. Seems we couldn't understand each other....his English was poor and he could not find our local rental car place, even though we had a map printout of it's location. It was embarassing for us that we could not understand him and we felt stupid. never did find our car rental, later found out we had passed it twice. Note: the fitness area had 2 treadmills that did not work so had to wait our turn. little kids in the outside jacuzzi, who wants to take a jacuzzi with little kids that pee in water ?

Excellent Buffet
By Sir Pants A Lot, 9/26/05
Try the buffet- all you can eat for 13 bucks. Eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit. Great breakfast that will keep you going all day! Try the patio dining early in the morning- nice view of pool.

One of the best Courtyards
By Eric, 7/4/05
This is one of the nicer Courtyard properties. It has a nice bar, typical of other hotels, near the lobby. It also has a nice lobby and small market area for snacks. Unfortunately, there was a rush of guests when I came to check-in. The staff was friendly and apologetic but let someone ahead of me in line accidentally. The staff was so friendly that it didn't bother me. The room was really spacious for most Courtyards. It's also a large multi-story building and the hallways were bright and felt new. I'd recommend this hotel to those flying in or out of LAX and desiring a bargain.
