Loved everything about it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/28/09
Went for my husbands 50 birthday, and the staff could not have been more accomadating or pleasant, even so far as remembering our names when we entered the restaurants. The housekeeping staff even made a birthday cake out of the towels and placed it in the middle of the bed, there was also champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and cake delivered by room service the same day! The restaurants were also unbelievably excellent as far as the quality of the food and service, and a wonderful assortment of wines. The bar staff were always very accomodating and never very far away. The grounds were well manicured and very clean, as well as the pool area and beach. The fitness center was very adequate as far as resorts go, lots of machines and never really packed. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone of all ages. Would definitely go back again!!!!!!!!!

3.5 out of 5
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/08
My wife and I came here on our first anniversary. The hotel was clean and the people were very friendly, as they usually are at all inclusives. The area is amazing. If you have time, a city tour is very worth it and sometimes built into the price if you stay enough nights. The restuaraunts were very nice and the dinner food is amazing. Mar Intimos has Itialian food that is out of this world. Mo Mo Nohanna has great asian inspired food and the best sushi in the area. Our room was very modern and high class. Being only about 100 sq ft, it got a little tight towards the end of the trip. The tv hutch has a mini fridge full of beers, sodas, and waters. There are 4 bottles of liquor in the hutch as well. 27in flat screen, huge hot tube, king size bed and endless complementary wine. Now for the bad. The lunch spead is pretty bad. Its all buffet style in only one resturaunt. There is a small buffet at the bar by the pool, and all the food is just sitting outside in the open air. There is also a small taco hut next to the bar. I would reccomend room service for lunch, because it is much better than the buffet lunch. This hotel is an all inclusive, however it is not exclusive. Most all inclusives are adults only, Vallarta Palace is not. There are literally kids everywhere, which was cool for us because we like kids and didn't mind them because they are fun to watch run around and stuff. However, I would not have been very pleased if we would have been on our honeyoon. The size of the hotel is pretty small compared to most resorts. Everything including the pools, the beach front property, the rooms, in general space is just limited. I would not reccomend this hotel for honeymooners...trust me you don't want to show up on your honeymoon and be disapointed, it kills the experience. I would reccomend Vallarta Palace for anniversary trips, family vacations, buisness trips and couples vacations. * Important Note* There are small balconies on everyroom, they are about 2ftx5ft with no room for chairs. There are 30 rooms that have a great 5ftx8ft covered balcony with a table and chairs. The only way to get in these rooms is to request one. I called 5 days in advance and when we got ther we stilled waited about 2 hrs to get in our room, which was totally worth the wait for that room.

Great Vacation!
By Mike Graham, 4/30/08
We just returned from a 5 day, 4 night trip. The hotel is very nice. The staff is as friendly as many of the other reviews state. We liked the restaurants, especially the Brazilian restaurant. We did not try the Mexican restaurant, but I didn't hear anything bad about it. The rooms were nice with a fridge full of soda, beer and water. They clean your room twice a day and have turn down service in the evening. The mattresses were pretty comfortable. The rooms are very quiet, but as other reviews state, the noise in the hallways is pretty noticeable. The beach is very nice - be sure to make use of the free boogie boards and kayaks. The wait staff is a little slow at the pool/beach, so expect to wait for your order to show-up. Also, watch out for the elevator on the right - off the main lobby. We got stuck on it for about 5 minutes the first day we were there. It was working about 1/2 of the time. The hotel staff will offer you a "tour" of the place to talk about a "club" you can join to travel to the Palace group of hotels. We didn't go on it because we didn't feel like wasting 1-3 hours. We didn't run into a lot of timeshare people, but we were very informed from the reviews here about them. Just ignore the people asking you to come talk to them and you'll be fine. It wasn't bad at all for us. We only went on 1 of the free tours, which was the sunset sail. It was very nice and surprisingly good for a free tour. We booked tours through Vallarta Adventures - Las Caletas and the Canopy tour. Both were worth the $. Las Caletas was nice, but swimming and snorkeling were cancelled for us due to Jelly Fish. The guides at the canopy tour were fantastic, the best tour guides we had while we were there. I was there with my wife and we quickly noticed the hotel was full of groups. Company outings and large groups of friends were the majority of the people there. The guests were a little older, not a party crowd full of 20-30 year olds. That's not good or bad in our opinion, but just an observation. The hotel is great during the day, but after the free show, it dies down a lot. The hotel bar is nice, but not that exciting of a place to spend more than 1 evening at. If there was one drawback to this hotel, it's the lack of night life. Our only complaint was that we booked a room with a King bed, but they gave us a room with two full sized beds. The hotel was booked with conventions/groups so the room we booked was not available. The front counter staff was not very apologetic and really didn't care. I guess the rule for this hotel is confirm your reservation, confirm it again ..and confirm it one more time before you leave ...and then hope it's still confirmed when you arrive. Overall it's a very nice place with good food, great housekeeping service, attentive staff, nice pools and beaches and good tour activities. The main draw back is the lack of night life after about 10:30 p.m.

We didn't wanna go home!!
By Erika, 4/29/08
Well, we can not say enough good things about this resort. The service, OMG, it was GREAT. I felt like a queen. The food, it was great, so much to choose from and not enough time to try everything. The drinks never stopped flowing. The rooms, perfect in every way. I slept better here than at home. The room-service was extremely quick. The pool was amazing. Each and every staff member we encountered was pleased to serve us and always made us feel welcome and appreciated. The nightly activities at the ampitheatre were extremely entertaining. This was our first trip to Mexico and we LOVED absolutely everything about it. Oh, and the excursions that were included in our package were amazing. Patte, with the City Tour was so informative and really a neat gal. Rancho Pancho on the Horseback Tour, what a funny guy and made our "first" horeback riding a blast. The crew on the Sunset Tour were terrific, informative and comical.. We also bought the Rhythm of the Night excursion through Vallarta Adventures and that was so romantic and really formed some great memories for us. The crew on that boat ride to Las Caletas was sooo much fun. We danced and drank the motion sickness away :)

Spent Christmas 2007 at this fabulous resort. The staff were superb, couldn't ask for anything better. Will definitely be back. The rooms were wonderful, bed linens and pillows great and mattresses comfortable.

staff was very attentive
By Rita, 1/27/08
there was always an immediate follow up call from any request that we gave. We especially enjoyed the asian and italian restaurants in the hotel. the hotel provided serenity from the high pressured sales pitch from the surrounding time shared properties.

Great Place
Was there with a group that booked the entire resort annually. It is one of the annual highlight for my partner and I! The staff does go out of their way to make all of us feel welcome!

Love it. We keep returning here.
By Bob, 3/28/07
We had a time share here for 12 years. The Palace Group from Cancun/Cozumel area bought it and reopened it 2 1/2 yeas ago as an all-inclusive, and it is fabulous. The quiet rooms all have an ocean view, are wonderfully appointed with all the amenities like jacuzzi, great bathrooms, turn-down services, and more. Food...at least 4 star. Four types of restaurants on site, offer variety you don't normally find in the area. Pools are very clean and nice, but the beach is the best. Long, flat, great sand, no rocks, good walking for miles if you want to. But, the best parts are the people and the service they give you. Restaurant experiences are great, the friendly wait staff and their managers are right there, never have to look for anything. Best omelettes you can ever get anywhere. Bar service is great too, have all the top brands you don't expect. As I said, we will keep coming back. Thanks to the Palace for great vacations.
