Best moderately priced hotel in the city center

You can't go wrong booking at Jurys Inn Christchurch in the off-season. It's located across the street from Christchurch Cathedral, one of the most beautiful buildings in Dublin, and within easy walking distance of Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, Grafton Street, Trinity College, and other popular destinations. Prices are very reasonable for a city center hotel. In fact, it's probably the best value you'll find in central Dublin for good-quality, comfortable accommodations.
The rooms remind me of a Motel 6 or Best Western in the U.S. -- nothing memorable, but clean, comfortable and functional. They aren't air-conditioned, though, and like all hotels in Dublin the windows open only a crack. Other travelers report the rooms can get stuffy in the summer heat. (I've only stayed there in the winter and spring.)
Breakfast is usually extra, but it's convenient to have your morning meal right there at the hotel, and the breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of decent food. The hotel also offers a dinner buffet, but you'll likely want to eat dinner at one of the numerous restaurants and pubs in nearby Temple Bar or elsewhere in Dublin.
Booking at Jurys Inn Christchurch is a smart move for single travelers, couples and families who don't want to spend the hundreds of euros a night that rooms in older hotels in nearby Temple Bar and the Trinity College area charge.
