Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Versailles

I had the pleasure of staying at this Westin Trianon Palace and Spa in Versailles, France but I had the great displeasure of having breakfast for 3 days in the this hotels restaurant. Breakfast was included in my rate for which based on the property, I was expecting something nice. What I saw was disgusting. The only fresh products on the buffet tables was the bread and pastries. The fruits, meats and cheeses looked like they had been sitting there for days. Some of the fruit that wasnt covered with syrup was wilted and discolored. The flowers dressing the fruit bowls were hanging, brown and wilted. The cheese had dried edges, discolored and curved due to drying out. Now the meats, particularly the salami's discolored (brown) oily surface, edges curled up from age. The service for the first two mornings was acceptable because you seemed to have experienced cordial waiters picking up the slack for the other wait staff that seemed to walk around doing nothing, hiding and talking in the back room. Well my last morning was basically disgusting. The only wait staff this morning was the worse. One young man seemed to be trying but one man alone cannot do it all. I would try to get the other two individual's attention and they would act as if I wasnt there. Then when I did get the attention of the woman and asked for coffee she brought me a small pot for one even though it was evident there were two people at the table and immediately walked away without bringing any cream asking if we needed anything etc. Again, I needed utensils because the table wasnt even set when we were told to sit down. Getting someone's attention asking for a spoon and having it brought to the table took a little over 15 minutes (I time d it). Please thank them for ruin ing what could have been a beautiful experience in your hotel. I dont recommend this place to no one.

This is an awsome hotel, either the Palace building or the Pavillion building, both charming and different. Varying room sizes. Remember, you are staying in one of the finnest 4* hotels, and expect to pay the prices. As with most luxury hotels, you pay the price, instead of paying a couple of euro's for a coffee to your room, you pay 5-7 euro, plus surcharge. If you are on a travelers budget, don't come, and if you do, just don't eat in! There are tons of bistro's in town and the staff is friendly, helpfull, and accomodating. The more french you speak, the happier they are.

I was their for a week on business and visited many restuarants in the area. I did not stay at this hotel. The menu was excellent as was the wine selection. Service was very good. I would recommend this restuarant. Because of this experience I had hoped to return and stay at this hotel however after reading other reviews about the hotel I will opt to stay some where else but still visit the restuarant.,

I thought i had booked a 5* hotel in fact it turned out to be 4* I reported a broken armchair to reception on the first day of my stay ,and the second ,and the third.(Too late time to go home)And to cap it all, housekeeping changed our dressing gowns after the second night,without checking the pockets and my wife lost 2 items, which could not be retrieved.On the positive side great location,good size pool,nice gardens,and Versailles,we just loved it

I felt like French Royalty. The property is awesome, and the location is ideal for a nice romantic, peaceful get away in France. Plus if you want to go into Paris, the SNCF/Versailles RD station into Paris/St Lazare is in walking distance from the hotel (train takes 25 mins). The walk from the hotel is not that far. About a 10 min walk to the station. Hold hands with your love one and enjoy Versailles at its best!

We stayed in May '05 and went there specifically for the spa. The spa staff was so rude that we (a group of 6) opted to go to another spa. The spa charges considerably more on the weekend than on weekdays and of course the entire week is "booked" weeks in advance so you are forced to pay the weekend surcharge if your dumb enough to think it is the only spa in Paris... Room service was a shock, two espresso�s will run you 20 Euro...breakfast in the hotel is about 37 Euros, per person and it was nothing to write home about. Trying to get into the city will run you 45 Euro by taxi, unless you want to walk to the metro and take the subway, this is easier said than done... The concierge staff was excellent and helpful. The views are nice, the rooms are pretty. Ultimately, we will never go back to this hotel and "spa".
