Go anywhere but to this resort

We went to the Bavaro Princess in the early fall. The room stunk like a musty basement, the food and drinks were atrocious,the people drove you crazy to do excursions, and the staff was rude and not helpful. The staff also bugged you to buy drugs, or to go out of the resort to buy drugs. There was no food available for hours at a time, as 2 snack bars were closed. The buffet was horrible--for example, onion rings served for dinner were there the next morning for breakfast. Good luck trying to get towels for the beach--you need a special card which may or may not be delivered to your room for your first day. This was the worst trip EVER, and we have been to Jamaica, Hawaii, and Key West. STAY AWAY!!!!!

mk tour not flexible at all beware

we encountered a family emergency before leaving and contacted mk tour to ask if they would change our date till next month at first was told that the chartered flight was not replaceble but they would give us a credit on the unused part of the hotel. not everyone in the group was able to travel. after the trip i contacted them about the credit and was told that we dint have a credit. I felt that mk tours could have accomadated us since they go every week. and the flight that we went on was completely full so the air fare that we did not use they sold it both ways because the plane was full both ways....i will not use mk tour again......buy insurance. punta cana was nice.

The place is beautiful, but de Hotel is a 3 stars, for the moment. I can't recommend it to my friends or others.

Not worth it

I will rate the visit 0 to 10. 10 is best and 0 is worst. Beach 8/10 best thing about the resort Finding space on the beach 2/10. Set your alarm at 8 am on your vacation no joke Pool 6/10 nothing special room 7/10 cleaning the room 9/10. I tipped every day. resturants 5/10 buffet better than others. I went to the steak house because we liked the meal the first time we ordered the same order tasted nothing like the first day. bar and wait staff 8/10 entertaintment clown for the kids 9/10 really good Music band at night 8/10 show time and dancing group 3/10 useless not funny and terrible. security 3/10 Resort staff aggressive with young girls. Do not take your daughters to this resort. I saw touching that was not consented to. Casino 1/10 should not be called a casino. cheating at the poker table. No carding so you are gambling beside a 14 year old. Ramon Emilio is the super visor and he has no clue. During poker hands there is talking. Dealers are terrible. out side the resort 2/10 not safe and hookers I would never go back to this resort. At best this is a 2 star hotel.

This wasn't what I expected

The rooms are in dire need of a make over. The paint in the Bathtubs are chipping off. The Tub in our room was quite high off the floor. You had to be careful not to fall when getting out. The ceilings had cob webs hanging in the corners. The people at the casino were rude. The people in the hotel itself were not able to or didn't want to help you with anything. The specialty restaurants were no different than eating in the buffet. The only difference was at the specialty restaurant you order and then a snotty waiter throws the food on the table at you. The food was no better than just eating at the buffet. I found the pool are slippery at times. The pools are walk in pools. I did see them clean the pools every morning so I don't know how they got so slippery. I must say however, that the sun and sand and lack of snow made the holiday a whole lot better. I would definitely not give this resort a 5 star rating this is more of a 3 1/2 star.

The Bavaro Princess is like a tropical paradise, a very beautiful place. The service in the restaurants was very slow. The worst one is the Bella Pasta. The El Gaucho also had bad service. I had to ask for a glass of white wine about five times before the waiter would bring me one. The resort insists on reservations for the a la cartes, insists on seeing your reservation slip, gives away your table after 15 minutes, seat you in the corner even though the place is empty. I got to the breakfast buffet at 10:20 a.m. and it was closed, it closed at 10. I went for a burger at the McPrincess at 6:20, it had closed at 6 p.m.

Could be better

Service at the restaurants was not good at all. Not enough waiters for that amount of people. Also, drinks, which were free, were bad. No natural juces and house wines are just horrible( they don't have a wine list even during dinner time). Everything else was relatively good. Rooms were clean. Beach was good too.

Not a 5 star resort

First room smelled of mold(over powering). Second room the single beds they brought for the children were soaking wet. Had problems getting extra blankets and pillows. Major water leak in bathroom ceiling. Rooms are showing their age. Beaches and grounds were beautiful. Food was alright. I would not go back.
