need better telphone maners
By Georgia, 07/06/08
We arrived early and were not impressed with the location. As diamond members we had asked for early check -in. We called to see if room was ready ..The person who answered the phone was pretty close to being rude. We went down to river front and spoke to some locals who advised us it was not a safe area. so cancelled reservation

Above and beyond the others in the area.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/07
I have stayed a total of about 9 weeks traveling on business in Chattanooga. This has involved about 7-8 different hotels. This one is definitely above average and probably the 3rd nicest I have seen (compared to Reed House and Comfort Inn - both of which just seemed nicer). The rooms here are decent size, seem clean, decent breakfast selection each morning, good service, etc. The only minus is it is in a bad bad area of town (GHETTO) and has kind of difficult interstate access. Also, the doors have no weather stripping so whatever is going on in the hallways (Talking, doors slamming, etc) is VERY loud. I would say it is worth $80/nt. if you need to be right in town. If not, stay somewhere off I-75 for about $30 less for about the same quality.

not up to standard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/07
I arrived at 2pm and could not check in until 4pm. Attendant was not rude but very sharp spoken. When finally I got to my room the comforter had not been laundried. The pillows had sweat and grime soil on the pillows themself (not the case)and I found hair attached to them. The water cups were wet inside the protective plastic. There was a waxy substance around the soap dish in tub and on a big spot of the tile. It looked as if someone had spilled their shampoo there. The shower curtain did not look as if it had been cleaned. This hotel also charged $20 more than any other Hampton Inn I had ever visited including the ones in Pigeon Forge TN and it was not a holiday weekend. It is located in a rough part of town...there is a fence all around it with a gate closing off one of the entrances into the parking area to ward off transients and crime. To get to the tiny triangle shaped pool you have to go thru the lobby.

Thanks for the special service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/07
My wife and I stayed at this Hampton Inn in celebration of our 13th wedding anniversary. I spoke to the manager a few days before arrival and asked if he could arrange to have some champagne on ice in the room when we arrived so I could surprise my wife. I also asked if he would accept roses that I would have shipped to my wife at the hotel. He said he would take care of both of these - and he did. Everything went as planned and, thanks to Bob the manager, I was a hero. The bed was VERY comfortable and the room and bathroom very clean. A/C was ice cold, just like we like it. I highly recommend this Hampton, especially if you want your special plans to come off without a hitch.

Great place to stay but avoid the eggs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
It was very close to downtown but not so close that you had to worry about where to park. It was close to the main road to the incline railway and the drive to Ruby Falls and Rock City. There are several places to eat nearby as well as banks and drug stores. The expanded hot breakfast was a bit weak though. I was disappointed in a few things. The apple and orange juice was warm right from the machine so I recommend getting ice. The "egg" they serve looks like a childs gummy egg (not quite sunny side up but flat with white on the outside and yellow in the center) and one bite turned me to the toasts and cereal. Scrambled would've been better. The beds are too, too, too comfortable!!! We didn't want to get out of them in the morning. The bathrooms were large (room for 4 peoples items) but the shower was a bit small if you are big - even with the curved curtain rod my husband (6'1") kept hitting his elbows on the wall. The Pool is a neat triangular shape, with the temps being above 100 the entire time we stayed (3 nights) the water was like bath water but my 5 year old didn't care. I would stay here again but avoid the eggs.

Very happy we stayed here!
By sherry, 03/21/07
My husband and I had been to Chattanooga several times and always stayed on the mountain but this time we came with the kids and wanted to stay a little closer to the downtown area. We went online reading reviews of various hotels and decided on this Hampton Inn as it came highly recommended. We found the staff very helpful; the lobby was beautifully decorated; and our room was VERY clean with comfy beds and pillows to send you off to dreamland. Our bathroom (which I'm picky about) was of nice size and spotless. I almost forgot to mention what a nice complimentary breakfast they serve! It wasn't just the usual danish and coffee either. They had sausage, eggs, biscuits, bagels, muffins, toast, doughnuts, and the list goes on! We just got home and I wanted anyone that's also reading reviews and looking for somewhere to stay.....give this one a try! You won't be disappointed! We are very happy we stayed here and will go back!

Great Value!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
Good location. We stayed two nights. About 2 miles from downtown. Room was nice. Bathroom roomy. The Continental Breakfast was good. The first morning our choices were (biscuits, gravy, eggs, donuts, muffins, cinnamon biscuits, dry cereal, instant oatmeal, instant grits, yogurt and fruit). The second morning our choices were (biscuits, sausage, eggs, donuts, bagels, cinnamon biscuits, dry cereal, instant oatmeal, instant grits, yogurt and fruit). I thought that was good for a free breakfast. The price for the rooms are good also. I would stay there again. You have to pay for parking just about everywhere downtown, but most all hotels downtown charge you for parking also.

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/06
The hotel was very kid friendly and family oriented. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. The staff was great!! The location was extremely convenient to the places my family and I wanted to visit and the hotel even presented a sheet with directions to the most popular locations upon check-in. I purchased a total package to visit area attractions that included tickets to these attractions, I didn't have to wait for the hostess to get my tickets together or anything, EVERYTHING was right there in an envelope waiting for ME when I checked in. My husband is a very picky person and even was very pleased with this hotel. Next time, I am in Chattanooga, my family will for sure be staying at the Hampton in and I will make sure to recommend this hotel to everyone I know.
