Can't Wait to go back to the BRICK HOTEL
By jackie, 3/12/12
The atmosphere is great for a date and if you want to take your family and friends The Brick Hotel in Newtown, hands down. I ve been here about 6 times over the past year, and have never had anything but excellent food and service. I have stayed at the Brick Hotel for a romantic night and the rooms were clean and inviting. You must go spend the night I am a happy customer. If you want to feel special go to the brick hotel they make you feel like you are getting the best service, and the are making sure they meet all your demands and the do it with a smile. The food is out of this world if you never been there u are missing out

Great atmosphere!
By Amelia, 9/2/11
My boyfriend and I decided to splurge on a nice dinner for our two month anniversary so we went to The Brick Hotel. It was our first visit and the service could not have been better. We were seated right away, our waiter constantly checked on us and made sure we had everything we wanted. I see many reviews on here complain that the building smells 'old' but since the building was built in the 1700s, I think that an old building smell is warranted and actually adds to the atmosphere. In whatever case, it doesn't smell bad. The food is delicious though it is an awfully small portion for the amount of money it costs. But, like I said, we decided to splurge! Because of the price, it's not somewhere the two of us will go on a regular basis but we'll definitely go back for other special occasions!

Needs New Ownership
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/10
Decent service in a fantastic location. Terribly dirty, needs new paint, carpets, ect. It just looks old and unkempt.

Great atmosphere & food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/09
Seeing all the bad reviews, I had to post my latest visit to the Brick. The Brick is a quaint little B&B in Newtown. We dined there recently and were wowed by the food. Excellent caprese app and loved the chilean sea bass. Perhaps others caught them on an off day or we got them on a good day or they have turned it around, whatever the reason - it was really good.

Liked it

I worked there, my first job, washing dishes in the early 80's. I'm a sucessful adult now, live on west coast. Class reunion 20 years later; I had to go there. 20 years ago, their food was generic (upper blue collar) steak & seafood. Now higher class, more varied menu. Good food. GREAT service. Staff gave me a tour when I told them of my high school age employement history. The kitchen is now modern and clean. I told the staff that in my day, we teenage kitchen workers teased each other that the (revolutionary war era) place was haunted. Probably any old building gets that reputation... The place still kinda gave me the creeps in a Twilight Zone kinda way, despite my being an adult now. But I really enjoyed my two meals there. Times have changed, and no old staff remained...but that creepy old familiar building with hotel and restaraunt that I still dream about is still there...more or less unchanged. I highly recommend it. Good people, good food, historic atmosphere...

horrible service, ok lunch
By Inna, 5/14/06
I heard so many good things about this restaurant, I had to try it. I made a reservation for 4 and arrived on time for lunch. We were sitted immediately and then waited and waited, 15 minutes later waiter arrived, we ordered drinks...and waited. well to keep a long story shorter then our 2.5 hours LUNCH, with waiting for food for 45 minutes. we wanted to have a desert but it took 15 minutes for menues we just cancelled it. service was bad, lunch menu short consisting of 7 items, not much choice. Food was ok, price is reasonable, and decor is nice. However, all this is not worth the waiting...and waiting. I would never go there again.

Awesome Music Night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/06
Old world setting with a twist. Flamingo style music with a flare. Servers with an attitude that the customer deserves to be treated as they should. Nothing goes unnoticed. A unique evening unlike any other we have been or have seen in a long time. Thanks for a most enjoyable Saturday evening. Eagerly awaiting the next!!!! See you at the Brick.

This place is amazing
By CJ J, 3/6/06
Great food (esp the Sunday Brunch) and ambiance. The service is unbeatable and the food is amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is around Newtown. The hotel itself has beautiful and cozy rooms - definitely worth it for a romantic getaway or just a getaway in general. Highly recommend trying out the Brick!

we'd go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/05
seem that the wait staff couldn't decide who was going to wait on us. after our order was taken the "other waiter/waitress came over to take our order. when our order was served, i asked for additional cocktail sauce. I had to tell 2 people to do this. the sauce never came.
