11 reviews for The Brick Hotel, Newtown
Great atmosphere & food
By Mister, 12/27/09
Seeing all the bad reviews, I had to post my latest visit to the Brick. The Brick is a quaint little B&B in Newtown. We dined there recently and were wowed by the food. Excellent caprese app and loved the chilean sea bass. Perhaps others caught them on an off day or we got them on a good day or they have turned it around, whatever the reason - it was really good.

AWFUL. DISAPPOINTING. NOT WORTH IT.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/09
The brick hotel has gone down the tubes. This place used to be great. It has taken dining to an all new LOW. The service is terrible. The food is terrible. The ambiance is terrible. I hope that once the new owners run this place into the ground that they'll sell it to someone who can put it back together. It has a beautiful location, excellent outdoor seating and charm. Lots of potential for someone with some vision. Steven Star please help!

Changed around
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/07
I went back to the Brick recently as I heard of new ownership and management. I must say the whole experience was great. The food was excellent, esp the main course salmon. Apps were excellent too but the deserts were just ok. Nice ambiance, esp in the garden. I would highly recommend this place

WHAT A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT !!!!!!!
By MosheG, 08/20/06
I made plans to bring 20 guests for Sunday Brunch- for my parents 60th anniversary. I made the plans ahead of time and it was suggested to me to have the brunch for the 2nd seating which was from 1:30 till 4. My first question was will it be the same as the moring seating, will they have enought food. I was quickly told that most definitely it will be the same. Well when we arrived it was like we came in at the end of a party and we were left with all left-overs. I quickly went to the manager and asked if we should have a seat until they re-organized for us to have our brunch. He was very UNprofessional and did nothing to help. SIMPLY SAID IT WAS JUST BAD !!!!-I have tried numerous time to reach Joseph Garvey ,owner without success. JOSEPH GARVEY DOES NOT HAVE THE DECENCY TO RETURN MY CALL OR LETTER.

Liked it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/06
I worked there, my first job, washing dishes in the early 80's. I'm a sucessful adult now, live on west coast. Class reunion 20 years later; I had to go there. 20 years ago, their food was generic (upper blue collar) steak & seafood. Now higher class, more varied menu. Good food. GREAT service. Staff gave me a tour when I told them of my high school age employement history. The kitchen is now modern and clean. I told the staff that in my day, we teenage kitchen workers teased each other that the (revolutionary war era) place was haunted. Probably any old building gets that reputation... The place still kinda gave me the creeps in a Twilight Zone kinda way, despite my being an adult now. But I really enjoyed my two meals there. Times have changed, and no old staff remained...but that creepy old familiar building with hotel and restaraunt that I still dream about is still there...more or less unchanged. I highly recommend it. Good people, good food, historic atmosphere...

horrible service, ok lunch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/06
I heard so many good things about this restaurant, I had to try it. I made a reservation for 4 and arrived on time for lunch. We were sitted immediately and then waited and waited, 15 minutes later waiter arrived, we ordered drinks...and waited. well to keep a long story shorter then our 2.5 hours LUNCH, with waiting for food for 45 minutes. we wanted to have a desert but it took 15 minutes for menues we just cancelled it. service was bad, lunch menu short consisting of 7 items, not much choice. Food was ok, price is reasonable, and decor is nice. However, all this is not worth the waiting...and waiting. I would never go there again.

Awesome Music Night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/06
Old world setting with a twist. Flamingo style music with a flare. Servers with an attitude that the customer deserves to be treated as they should. Nothing goes unnoticed. A unique evening unlike any other we have been or have seen in a long time. Thanks for a most enjoyable Saturday evening. Eagerly awaiting the next!!!! See you at the Brick.

This place is amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/06
Great food (esp the Sunday Brunch) and ambiance. The service is unbeatable and the food is amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is around Newtown. The hotel itself has beautiful and cozy rooms - definitely worth it for a romantic getaway or just a getaway in general. Highly recommend trying out the Brick!

Restaurant & Bar Review
By Lorenzo, 12/14/05
I have not stayed in the rooms (but more on that later). The food, service, and ambiance is well among the best in Bucks County. The location represents the vortex of charming pre-revolutionary war Newtown, PA. Outside there are tasteful white xmass lights year round. All of the food and drinks are as great as you could ever want from the fresh backed rolls to the deserts. The prices remind you that you are in a small town and not a city but with that said this is not a cheap meal, rather a good value in fine dining. Oh, and the rooms, Yahoo local is the stupidest interface on the planet earth. I travel for work and have a great wealth of first hand reviews that I keep for the benefit of myself and my brothers in travel. None of these places are in my local area, duh. Why would I bother to keep written reviews of local places that I remember like the back of my hand. Yahoo should fix this interface or, as the borg say, "prepare for assimillation."
