Lush landscaping, vibrant tropical colors, and salty breezes characterize the classic Caribbean charm of this boutique hotel, inside and out. Brilliant hibiscus, stunning birds-of-paradise flowers, soaring palms and giant philodendron grace the numerous outdoor planting areas and winding pathways. Throughout the interior, commissioned paintings by local artist Sandy Lloyd portray lush tropical scenes and are the backdrop to the casual yet elegant theme of the property. Consistently ranked the number one hotel in Daytona Beach on Trip Advisor, the Bahama House offers bold and brilliant Caribbean influences that blend to create an atmosphere that is both gentle and relaxing. Located just south of the bustling center in Daytona, the 10-story resort rests along a quiet stretch of coastline. The hard packed sands provide the perfect conditions for long walks, energetic activities and exciting beach play. Arriving under a Porte cache of rich cypress, guests can immediately appreciate the uniqueness of the Bahama House. The relaxing Caribbean style of the renovated reception area and lobby features plantation lazy chairs, high back lounge chairs and- a modern day centerpiece- a 50 inch wall-mounted plasma screen TV. Bright floral fabrics and tropical artwork compliment the dark tropical tones of the wood and rattan furniture, creating a serene and comfortable area to gather for conversation or to enjoy a quiet moment with a good book. Residents since 1960, the Staed family has managed and/or built more than 15 hotels in the area in the last 33 years. Fun in the Sun!!
By Amanda, 03/16/09
Me and my family just came from an amazing vacation on one of Daytona Beach, Florida best hotels at http://daytonabahamahouse.com. They offered special discount rates for any upcoming events. Plus there right by the family favorite attractions like the Kennedy Space Center and Disneyworld.

Love this place!!!
By Laurie Ann, 01/05/09
We will definitely be back. The staff and service were awesome. The property is extremely clean and our room was big and comfy.....a perfect place to spend the holiday. The only thing we would have liked to have was an oven in our full kitchen. We planned to cook a big meal Christmas day, but had to change those plans because of the lack of oven.

this is your place to go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/08
We had a bad time at another hotel then we stopped into this one, and they gave us a room with a low price, because we had such a hard time. The staff was great. Rooms were clean. We felt right at home here. We go to the beach a lot to stay and now only here.

It's just okay...
By jenniferh, 09/27/08
I read the reviews and thought I was going to a much nicer place than what it turned out to be. First of all the lobby is beautiful and IF the rooms were the same the place would be great. It's an older hotel, rooms need updated. The sheets had stains on them that I'm sure housekeeping saw when they put them on the bed and they should have been thrown out. The fabric on the chairs was torn and there were sunflower seeds on the carpet from the previous guest. The toilet was a commercial type with no tank and the big lever to flush, no "homey" feeling there. The breakfast consists of powdered sugar donuts, bagels and instant oatmeal, there was coffee and juice. The pool was nice and every room does have beach view, hotel is right on the ocean. I was disappointed and won't be going back. I wasn't expecting the Hilton for $99.00 but I really thought it was going to be nicer and after seeing the stains on the sheets I had a hard time sleeping, wondering what else I had missed on my visual inspection! Luckily we only needed one bed so we didn't have to sleep in the one with the large stain, but there was smaller stains on the sheets we did use, I'm sure they were washed but that didn't make me feel much better about it.

It was clean, and my whole family loved it. We have gone there twice, and why do you think I'm here? Because we are going back!

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/08
Just got back from Spring Break-Wow!what a find this place was! We travel 4 kids sports all around FL & decided @ last minute 2 go 2 beach 4 a few days, but could not find anything that was reasonably priced or not a dump. Found this place on internet with only 1 night available-I called & they had a cancellation for 3 days. Our room was very spacious-bed was probably the most comfortable thing I have slept in apart from mine at home.Full size fridge, stove top, microwave, plates, utensils;bathroom very spacious, breakfast was enjoyable;never made it 2 cocktail hr. Pool was not very big but was clean-we preferred the lower deck which gave a view of ocean and had plenty of chairs. Will definately go back. Nice & helpful staff! Staff always cleaning!

Haven't stayed yet but...
By Andrew the Great!, 03/09/08
...has anyone else noticed how maddeningly slow their website is? I'm trying to book something and the hourglass just keeps flipping endlessly, then eventually the page does (or doesn't!) load. And it's not just when trying to go to the booking page. It's when trying to go to ANY page, even the home page. Has anyone else experienced this? (my ratings aren't real; in order to post this I had to do the ratings, so I used ratings that seemed consistent with the other postings - FYI)

Best place to stay in Daytona
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/07
We have stayed at the Bahama house 5 times and we are going back for New Years, the whole place is spotless and the staff can't do enough for you, we recommend Bahama House to everyone. The free continental breakfast is always fresh and beautifully set out, the pool and deck are cleaned daily, and you right on the beach What more could you want.
