Stay away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/11
This place is in need of a complete make-over. It used to be one of the best hotels in EL Salvador but now it belongs amongst the worst. The food was terrible, the staff lazy and the facilities were outdated (not to mention broken down). It is NOT worth going to anymore. 20 years or so ago I would have said different:(

The Bates motel is a better bet
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/10
We were on the last day of our mission work in el salvador and here is the top ten things we experienced at this hotel 1) It was completely empty.. think the shinning hotel 2) The ran out of food at an all inclusive 3) the beds were filled with bugs 4) the water did not function in at least 5 of our rooms 5) I personally had money stolen out of my wallet 6) we checked out of the hotel a night early and i still have not gotten my refund 7) the main pool was not open and no one told us 8) there were dead frogs all over the hotel 9) The staff was ok at best 10) The rooms stunk of cat pee and mold. do not stay here you are better off sleeping in a car!

Worst place ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/10
It was a terrible experience. The rooms are not clean, and there is no warm water. For 100 per person, you can go somewhere better. Besides, the rooms have chinches, I was bitten alive.

Seen better times
By PAMELA AD, 9/4/08
It seems quite beautiful but then you look closer and see that everything is old, worn, torn, faded and not particularly clean. The beach is nice and the staff are friendly and as helpful as they can be considering the state of the place although there are no tours offered or any activities. In fact, no one really stays there. It is sad and overpriced for the area.

It isnt worth it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/18/08
Well it used to be a great hotel, now the overall hotel is old, food is average is more like homemade food, the bartender doesnt know how to prepare drinks, the pool area has an old look that hasnt been taking good care off, the service isnt that bad. Also it generally seems empty very few people go to that hotel. Overall the hotel standard is very low for what it should be, you could get better hotels with that price in that same area. The only reason why you should go there if there isnt another place you can to to, if youy dont care being the only one there and if you like drinking only beers the whole day.

Tropical Escape at a value!!
By Cristina B, 12/28/07
Great value! We went for a day-pass visit, for $35 per person, you got 1 meal, open bar, and snacks, use of cabana, pools, and amenities. It was mid-week so we had the beach and shade of palm trees almost all to ourselves. The staff was very attentive, understood some English. Beautiful colonial-style hotel, definitely where you imagine you want to be in the tropical pacific coast.

time for a change...
By Alex, 12/21/06
I agree with others, this used to be a good hotel. Now, perhaps to lack of interest from the owner, it is getting worst. Food, room, service, you name it... everything is substandard
