Rodeway Inn Long Beach, Long Beach

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at Sweethoteldeals. Net They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

We arrived at nite, very nice crew working here, good price, room was VERY, very clean, only a block from Von's, really good location. We will stay here again

I was in Long Beach for a conference at the Westin, but I didn't book the trip in time to get a room there. I figured I would give the Rodeway Inn a shot since it was nearby. The picture didn't strike me as being an overly nice hotel, but I figured it couldn't be that bad, either, as it is only a couple blocks away from the Westin. While I didn't expect much, I got more than I expected overall. The hotel is near the beach, so I got to enjoy running near the ocean in the morning. It's pretty easy to get to and relatively convenient to that area of Long Beach. The staff was friendly the few times I talked to them. I gave it 3 stars for cleanliness; I didn't feel like it was dirty, but some things looked a little older or cheaper. I went out to restaurants and bars at night and walked around the area a little - I never felt unsafe. I noticed some street noise in the room during daytime but never was bothered at night. One tricky thing is the parking - you exit via the alley, so don't bring a big SUV.

I didn't find a pool or complimentary continental breakfast...but I did find the friendliest, more helpful staff I've ever encountered. I booked the wrong date online, still got a great rate on a room that day! Needed directions, they were helpful and printed them for me. Very polite and attentive. Its not the Ritz Carlton...but it is welcoming.
