Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, Khlong San Khwaeng

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. We had a Riverview room complete with full moon (optional value). The breakfast, the pool, room comfort, and service were all first class. Would return to Bangkok just to stay at this hotel.

This is the perfect retreat from the noise and pollution of the city, yet close enough to easily go enjoy the city's sights each day. The grounds are stunning and the rooms are quite sufficient, with a lot of nice dining options on the grounds (and a great breakfast buffet). The boat ferry to the skytrain and boat taxi dock is quick, frequent and refreshing. They even give you water and scented towels on your return trip. If you want a taste of "real" Bangkok, take a walk out the front gate and walk up the street a ways. The shops and food stands aren't there for tourists, but are fascinating to see. Prices are high by Thai standards, but good by American...though they charge way too much for Internet access.

Dislike? You must be joking. The rooms are spacious, clean and oh so comfortable. The staff is like family and once in you seem to be in a different world.

I was so sad to have to leave Thailand what a wonderful country. The food is amazing. The buildings have a fliar that is exciting to take in. The people are proud to be Thai. The time of your life is waiting every time you step out of your room. The hotel offers so many services and has so many restaurants that it takes some effort to leave the little paradise that is in the middle of a thriving metropolous. Good coffee and a fine selection of tea can be had as you plan your day over breakfast. I found the fruits to be bursting with flavour and it was a fine english breakfast that is served to a hungry explorer. The chatuchak weekend market is one of the best markets in the world so beware there is a something for everyone. It is a huge market and it is great place to hunt for bargins. Gifts for all kinds of occations can be bought and shipped from here. Bangkok has a modern port that is the gateway to the world and the postal service is honest as well as efficiant. You can start your day reading e-mails in your room over coffee or tea. The in room service is great. The city has internet cafes everywhere and mobile phone signal strength is better then ever. The subway or sky train can greatly help to avoid the rush hour traffic and clean rapid modern service is enjoyed by turists and locals everyday. There is the water taxi option if getting around and enjoying a diffrent view while on the move but the sevice is during daylight hours only but worth taking advantage of especially with the stops being so close to major sites. It is hard to decide on visiting a Wat or a Palace, of course there is plenty of indoor shopping to be done. Thai boxing is worth the visit just to see what the national sport is like live and notice how the matches are taken seriously with so much betting going on around before the action in the ring starts. The National Stadium can be reached easily by Skytrain. Taking advantage of the hotels spa sevice is wise as it helps to quickly recharge the energy levels that are needed to take on the nightlife. There are traditional shows to see and modern clubs to dance into the night. Every manor of food and drink can be found in this thriving city. It is easy to find the circuses and bread to put the day to rest. Remember as of 2004 all restuarants, bars and clubs close by 2am but it allows for a few hours of sleep before visiting the floating market. Be sure to take a bottle of water on the ride down and it would be wise to bring a lunch basket from the hotel as they have a fine selection that can be waiting for you if you order a day in advance. It is nice when the hotel can provide solutions so that the enjoyment of the moment can proceed smoothly. It is easy to feel pampered in Bangkok and the time flys as the fun is had but until changes are made with Visa regulations when your month is over it's time to go. Anyone could easily spend a few months or even a year trying to enjoy the sites and sounds of bankok as well as the islands and beutifull cities of the interior but all good things come to an end. The shuttle to the airport is a sad ride as you say goodbye to a special place in the incredable city of the wonderfull country.

This is one of the best hotels in Bangkok. It is located next to the river. It has luxury amenities and because of the value fo the dollar compared to the baht, this is definitely affordable for the family.

Everything is excellent, you must like it like me, but it is 15 min from downtown BKK. Eventhough it is far from Downtown, it is so quiet. If you are looking for the hotel in BKK which is in downtown but seems like in a jungle. This is the hotel that you are looking for.
