Quaint Family Run Value
Since 2006, my husband and I have visited this Comfort Inn several times. The family who runs this location works extra hard to make guest stays pleasant. For example, when they were out of gluten-free-diet friendly breakfast items, the hostess went to a grocery store to replenish the stock, rather than allow me to go hungry.
Granted, this is an older place, and some of the amenities are well-used. However, there is a certain '70s charm to this practical, clean and safe value-priced hotel.
One of our most pleasant stays occurred when we were surprised with a courtesy upgrade to the honeymoon suite on Super Bowl weekend. The first night, we discovered that our room's ceiling was painted with glow-in-the-dark stars and constellations. Although this decor sounds a bit cheesy, it was delightful to pretend we were sleeping under the stars. Watching the game was even more fun when viewed from the in-room Jacuzzi for two.
In fact, this place has been such a pleasant experience that we sent newlywed friends here on an affordable mini-honeymoon. The hotel staff made sure that the room was extra nice, even adding some fresh flowers to the room and providing an extra-late checkout for the couple.
