We will be back!
By Amy, 5/8/11
Great property! We loved the trails and how kept the common areas were! Housekeeping staff were very friendly. My husband and I came up for 2 nights just a break away from kids. It was perfect for us. But we also know that we will be back with the kids intow!! The other reviews complained about the prices in the General Store and food prices. Well, you are paying for the luxury of not HAVING to leave the resort! Money well spent in our opinion!

Horrible Prices
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/10
The place was pretty nice and I liked the lazy river but it was ridiculous how expensive everything is. Plus, if you try to save money and eat at the general store they have, you have to wait in super long lines which is no fun with kids. Also, the internet prices are absolutely absurd. They charge you 1.52 a minute, and they chage you 1.25 a page if you want to print anything! It cost us 24.00 just to be on the computer for 11 minutes and buy Sea World tickets. We had to buy 8 tickets so there goes almost 13.00 out the window just to print tickets. Added to about 11.00 is your 24.00. Nice place but absolutely ridiculous pricing. They just nickel and dime you for every little thing.

Great Texas destination!
By Michael, 1/25/10
A very inviting and cozy destination no doubt! The rooms are nice, with all haveing a balcony, or if on the first floor, a walkout patio. The TV's are not flat-screen which is a bit of a downer in this day and age, especially for the nightly rate. The pool/ lazy river area is one of the main attractions; this makes the Hyatt more of a summer destination, because most of its attractions are only enjoyed under the Texas Summer. However, if you are headed here for a romantic destination, this is not the place for you. To the contrary, if you are looking for a great family vacation, you will have a great stay! The lazy river is popular with the children, so expect to be bumped and splashed. The smores at night are a favorite amongst the kids, as is the nightly lawn cinema. Everynight, weather permiting of course, the Hyatt projects a classic, usually Disney movie onto a huge screen. Families are always watching the movies and it really is a great touch. Again, great for families, not so great for a romantic get away.

My family didn't want to leave
By texaspaulster, 8/24/09
We stayed a total of 6 nights. Spent 4 days at the local attractions and spent the next 3 at the hotel. My wife enjoyed the spa and the kids enjoyed the pool and river. The hotel had just about everything we could have needed from the general store, to hot towels at the pool. My wife also was very pleased with the complimentary laundry. It's our second trip to Hyatt and we were pleased. Now if you are looking to relax, make sure you have a room on the upper floors. I know that having the downstairs unit open to the courtyards is great with kids, but if you are looking to relax, dont. I also read one review that complained about the kids. In the summer, what do you expect. The place caters to families. While we were there, we heard the conceirge comment that they had 1400 people from a retreat. Funny thing is, my wife and I still didn't notice it being that crowded. We walked the pathways in the day and night, rarely passing anyone. The sun down movies on the lawn, were very nice. Popcorn and smores made it a memorable time for the family.

Excellent Choice for Business Travel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/08
We had a group of over 50 stay less than a week for business in the Fall. Our group have avid golfers who really enjoyed the convenient golf course. We received much help with preparations for such a large group before the conference. They were stellar during the meeting days. Our employees had several favorable comments on the hotel. Many stayed with family on the weekend. We travel several times a year as a large group and are familiar with multiple hotels. Not all of them are great. This one lived up to the descriptions. Kudos goes to Karin behind the scenes in income auditing at the hotel who helped a member who had to cancel because of a family emergency. It shows good customer service is not dead. Highly recommended.

Nice, but not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/08
I usually stay at the Westin La Cantera, but this summer I decided to do something different for the family. Highlights- Fireworks show for the Fourth of July. Lowlights- $350 a night is a little steep for this place. I travel for business all across the US and I thought the landscaping was first rate, service was ok, rooms were ok, food was ok, lazy river was not that lazy(kids made that place a nuthouse)but golf was good. Net- I would prefer to go back to the Westin for $125 cheaper a night and have the same if not better experience with better proximity to San Antonio.

Great place to stay with kids
By Dave, 7/7/07
We visited with our kids and grandkids, a perfect place to take the younger kids, we found no reason to leave the hotel property. Club Hyatt for the youngsters was great, our granddaughter loved it, and wanted to spend every evening there. Food was excellent and priced well for what was available. Our only issue was the rooms were not ready when we arrived, but they called as at the pool area when the rooms were ready. Enjoy.

Poor attitude from desk staff
By RobbieandBrandi, 1/27/07
Although this is a beautiful resort and well appointed these positive attributes can not make up for desk staff that do not seem to care for the customer. I was treated better by the doorman and housekeeping than by the rest of the staff. I will take my business elsewhere; I can live without bells and whistles if I am treated well.
