Best Burger in the County
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/08
I found the last review to be completely untrue. My husband is a very picky eater and has deemed the Shoreham Inn Cheeseburger the best in the county. The ingredients for dishes are fresh and include a lot of locally grown food. I agree that most restaurants in Middlebury are a little lacking, and the Inn has gained in popularity because of it. I have found the fish dishes to be well-presented and nicely sauced. The place has a great atmosphere and is family friendly. I think $9 for an 8oz. burger is a lot better deal than $20 for overcooked chicken someplace in Middlebury.

Restaurant food overrated and overpriced
By First L, 6/24/08
This Inn has a pub / restaurant that gets a lot of talk because there are not many good restaurants in the area (even in Middlebury, a much larger town 10 miles away). The Shoreham Inn restaurant's food is highly overrated. We had an acceptable salad ($7), an OK but unexceptional and way overpriced burger ($9) and an utterly boring fish special ($16). One Otter Creek draft was good and a Pimm's cocktail was not great. Altogether, the bill for 2 was $44 for a small pub dinner with one shared salad and no dessert, one drink each. With tip, $50. The potatoes that came with the food were good. The asparagus was flavorless. ALL of the food badly needed salt and seasoning. We had heard a few people say that the food here was great. It was decidedly not great....and it was quite expensive. Be warned.

Quite and Cultivated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/25/06
The town of Shoreham is picturesque, and the Inn fits in well. The only place in the area to get a guiness, and some tasty cuisine, all in an authetic pub setting. Whether you go to relax, or hit the rolling area roads for a spin on your bike you'll like this place.
