Restaurant food overrated and overpriced
This Inn has a pub / restaurant that gets a lot of talk because there are not many good restaurants in the area (even in Middlebury, a much larger town 10 miles away).
The Shoreham Inn restaurant's food is highly overrated.
We had an acceptable salad ($7), an OK but unexceptional and way overpriced burger ($9) and an utterly boring fish special ($16). One Otter Creek draft was good and a Pimm's cocktail was not great. Altogether, the bill for 2 was $44 for a small pub dinner with one shared salad and no dessert, one drink each. With tip, $50. The potatoes that came with the food were good. The asparagus was flavorless. ALL of the food badly needed salt and seasoning.
We had heard a few people say that the food here was great. It was decidedly not great....and it was quite expensive. Be warned.
