Impressive Accomodations and Service
By SusanB, 10/11/09
This hotel is about 20 years old, but Crowne Plaza has gone above and beyond to keep it in excellent condition. The atrium lobby is remarkable, filled with sounds and views of a cascading waterfall and lots of openness. Check-in staff was extremely courteous and helpful, shuttle drivers to/from airport were attentive and very pleasant. The room was huge, extremely clean, well maintained and relatively quiet--specifically, we heard no hallway noise or neighbors the whole time but there was minimal noise from the interstate and airport. Not too bad. Water in the shower took some time to heat up, but the pressure and showerhead were good. Bathroom was average size, and had great lighting and a pullout mirror--nice touches in a hotel. The beds: one of the comforters had a small stain, but they were fantastic--rivaled my favorite beds at Hilton and Hyatt in comfort. We stayed one night in the first week of October and needed heat, which wouldn't come on since we were probably the first to use it for the season. One call downstairs quickly brought a maintenance man who was very professional and pleasant-resolved the problem in a matter of minutes. Wi-fi for a $10 fee, but they had a nice business center off the lobby with free Internet access. In short, this was a very enjoyable overnight stay--great night's sleep, nice, updated furnishings in the room, plenty of space, and a staff that were courteous and professional across the board. And free parking. We've stayed one night at the Airport Hilton...Crowne Plaza beats it hands down!

Nicest Crowne Plaza we have been to
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/09
Beautiful Hotel. Nice Pool and waterfall. Our rooms were nice and clean and the beds are very comfortable. The hospitality in the Clouds Restaurant in the morning was exceptional. Shuttle service very convenient in taking us to and from the airport and to local restaurants. Our group met before dinner nightly in the Hotel Lobby Bar and the bartender was friendly & fun! I had the best Cosmo to date! There was no refrigerator in my room but I requested one and there was one delivered in no time. I travel alot to St. Louis and have stayed at several area hotels surrounding the airport and this one is by far the best! Can't wait to return in February! Thumbs up! Paula M.

looks are decieving
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/08
The problems I experienced at Crowne Plaza include: 1) A/C fan in room is underpowered and puts out semi-cool, half-fresh air; 2) the hotel's location is nearly inaccessbile even from the highway; 3) the attached TGIF restaurant is underpar due to small serving size and meals do not come with everything advertised, i.e. my Jack Daniels Chicken and Shrimp was missing the shrimp. Overall, my four nights here for a business trip were lackluster at best. I would not recommend this hotel as a venue for business meetings or personal stays.

I would never come back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/08
Managers and staff are inept and extremely rude. They act like they are the guests instead of the hosts and you should be jumping through hoops for them. They overcharged us and then when our account was overdrawn they simply said, "Someone made a mistake." They didn't try to rectify it or even say that they were sorry. The room is about as comfortable as the YMCA. Get this. You have to pay for an internet connection. You Pay to check your email. Have you ever heard of anything so rediculous? Access is by one driveway that comes up so quickly as you exit the highway that everyone misses it the first time and you have to go all the way back onto the highway to the previous exit and try again. Then, because of merging traffic at the driveway entrance, you are lucky if you don't get rear-ended while entering the driveway. My advice: Don't stay there. There are plenty of better places--much cheaper with better ambiance than this dive.

Below average

1) Really pitiful internet for $9.95/day, about 200Kb/s tops over two weeks and two rooms. So it's not just a temporary thing. Outlook times out, web sites time out connecting. It's not worth a dime. My Blackberry is better using EDGE and it's only 128Kb/s. 2) Rooms are kinda clean but the kind where you see dirt around the edge of the carpet. 3) Can still smell strong coffee odor in the coffee pot after being supposedly cleaned. 4) Some rooms don't have AC & heat - they say you have to call facilities to get it switched from one to the other... say what? 5) Not easy to get to... 6) Restaurants in the area are few and far between - none were very good. 7) Beds are fine. 8) Parking is not very good. 9) T-Mobile cell signal is 3/5 bars. 10) Staff was ok. 11) Easy access to the airport. 12) Very limited TV channel selection. Below average. 13) Rooms were quiet. 14) Smoking rooms didn't smell bad. I travel a lot and this is not where I'd ever stay again - the company I'm consulting to had me stay here. Paid $89 on the company rate for a king room. If that were the rack rate I'd still look elsewhere.

Disappointed overall
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/05
No clock in our room, had to call front desk to learn what time it was. Hotel is hard to get to, there is only one entrance, which is unmarked and dangerously close to an interstate off-ramp. The Sleep Advantage Package was a disappointment, as we were not provided with many of the items advertised, such as curtain clips and a CD player to play the relaxation CD. The air conditioning did not get the room as cool as I would have liked. The improved linens and down pillows were a nice feature, and the room had a nice lounge chair with ottoman.

She's very good at her job. Everyone there is great. We always enjoy ourselves.Room service is excellent, and the hotel resturant has a great breakfast buffet. you can tell the hotel has a well trained staff. Thank you.
