Brookwood Inn, Pittsford

I read everyone's comments on another site and thought hey why not?! Maybe the other ppl leaving the comments were up tight snobby people who complain about everything! Those were my thoughts as I read reviews. Boy was I wrong!!! I'm a very easy going easily please person and I think 90 a night is expensive for a night at a hotel but it was out 5th anniversary and I wanted to do something special me and my husband had not gone anywhere since our honeymoon. 2 kids later I'm thinking it was time to get away for an evening. I book a night for a jacks suite and I paid extra for there bike rental. We get there and the lobby looks so fancy and beautiful I'm thinking WOW this is great!!! We check in and realize the suites are in the basement. I'm thinking hmmm ok so no boogie! Well we take the elevator one level down and as soon as the elevator doors open this weird smell hits us and I'm thinking oh great! We get to our room the furniture is old chipped paint. The bed was comfortable very very comfortable I must say! We had the bike rental for the day so we put our stuff away and went up to the lobby for our bikes. Well needless too say they seriously need to upgrade!! These bikes were SO OLD and OUTDATED!! You couldn't even fix the seats. I kid you not if you were to see these bikes you would think they pulled them out of a dumpster! We made the best of it and still rode them I didn't want to complain it was our anniversary and our first time out alone without the kids and I was determined to have a good time. Well after our bike ride we wanted to relax in the jacks tub. I was soothing upset when I walked into the bathroom!! The far end of the tub was dirty I had to scrub it clean before we filled it up. I know what your thinking I should have called the front desk and complained yes I know I should have but I didn't want to get my husband upset so I just cleaned it myself and made the best of it. Bottom line DONT STAY HERE!!!!!! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! Really I'm not a snob rich person we never stay in fancy hotels but let me tell you I have yet to go to a cheap Days In and have to clean our shower before getting in and I have yet to get off the elevator and be ambushed by a smell only way to describe it is when you have a wet towel and it doesn't dry right and has that rancid smell to it! DONT BOTHER really its not worth the money! Sorry if their any typos I'm typing away on my cell phone :)

It was a beautiful weekend in Pittsford. The only stain was the Brookwood Inn and a bagel incident. Some serious updating needed for the hotel. But, more than that was the ridiculous style of the staff. When we checked in we were told breakfast was free. We came down the next morning to some stale bagels and meat, a few pieces of fruit, and boxed cereals. Since I don’t eat meat, I had a bagel. My husband tried everything and was not happy. The waitress gave us a bill for $20+ dollars for the meal and told me sometimes “the front desk tells people its free when its not.” Trust me, I would not have paid $10 for a bagel. (There are some great breakfast places in town.) Not a big deal. Went to the front desk. They told me I would have to speak to the manager who was out of town. For a bagel? I admit, it is a small thing. But when you are wrong, you are wrong. “Bagelgate” continued for several weeks with the management deciding what they would do. In the end, I spent $20 of my cell bill listening to their excuses for why they could not credit me any money even though they made a mistake. Stay at the Del Monte. Not that much more and SO much nicer.

The staff are very friendly but do not expect staff to trip over you as in some 5 star establishments. Their web site is accurate in its descriptions. There is a convenient library-cum-internet area on the mezzanaine floor and a restaurant which gave good service and followed special diet requirements faithfully. Easy to reach from the airport and close to the large Eastview Shopping Mall. Convenient for business or holiday use, with a well equipped fitness room and heated swimming pool. Within easy walk of the Eirie canal. I would be happy to stay there again if I visit the area.

Stayed in June for my 15 year anniversary ,spent lots of money for drinks and a good meal . Went back to my room in my jacuzzi suite, was called for T.V. being to loud, remote did not work at all ,was awaken 3 in the morning ,fireman burst into my room. I was outside for an hour with everyone that stayed in the hotel. The next day the hotel manager was not around at all. After speaking with the manager was able to get one free night and $75.00 more for a jacuzzi room, that still smelled of smoke and broken doors that had been forced in by fireman. Later that night (the free night) water was dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom over the Jacuzzi….I called the front desk and the only thing I was asked is what time I can be out. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone….but it does look good from the outside.

They serve breakfast on trays during week days. The beds are beautiful and so comfortable you want to lounge all day. Staff is friendly and bent over backwards to help us several times. They even map quested directions for us so we did not waste time. I would love to go back without the kids for some quality time.

I stayed in the Brookwood for one month consecutive on business. First off the location makes it impossible to make a right hand turn. This means every morning and evening a traffic nightmare. The food is great a little overpriced. Room service however normally takes over one hour if you can get through. No maid service after 3 pm. If you need towels linens etc you are out of luck. The staff In Peter Geyers steakhouse is nice however the receptionists are quite the opposite. The rooms have been remodeled and are very clean. The heating and airconditioning are out of date making loud noises and offering either hot or cold. There are no laundry facilities. Complimentary breakfast Guess Again!. There is a swimming pool it sint too bad. The gym consists of one exercise bike and a treadmill. There is a free wireless internet connection that works half of the time.At 159 per night for the standard room? Every other 3 Star and above hotel for this price and less has much more to offer. As an experienced business traveler and family man I would not recommend the Brookwood Inn to anyone unless you are in a pinch.

I have been doing lots of business travelling during the last couple of years. This one is really a surprise to me. With such low price(I bid on priceline), hard to find the same great quality anywhere else. Definitly recommend it if stop by Rochester.

Service and everything was wonderful! THe Hotel staff was there for everything we needed and more.

Our family stays here whenever we visit the Pittsford area. The rooms are large & clean and the heaters have worked OK for us. The staff and guests are friendly and the prices seem reasonable. The wireless internet is a nice addition. We eat at the restaurant occasionally and it is good, medium priced American food.

The heater kept me up all night and the food was awful.
