Good place to stay! My favorite hotel in this area for sure. Staff was kind. Ended up getting this hotel pretty cheap at SweetHotelDeals. Net

Good end to a holiday
By Janet, 10/16/12
we were very impressed with the room we were allocated - whole style and ambience was relaxed with high standards re cleanliness, etc. + good views of the city. we would particularly like to thank staff member 'gustavo' who very kindly made arrangements for us to occupy the room until 4 p.m. to help with late flight that evening. our guide was cathy nail with collette holidays.

Run Down Rooms
By Joe Blow, 4/13/12
This hotel looks nice on the outside but is getting really run down. Our rooms TV was full of static. Sofa was so soft you could feel the sleeper bars on your behind. Carpet was full of pet stains, curtains torn. You could see actual stains and scratches painted over on the toilet seat... gross! What's a toilet seat cost $15? The pool is a lap pool (maybe 10' by 20') at best. Parking is a nightmare and a 11 story winding climb at $23 a night. Restaurant and bar service was horrible. Silverware and glasses dirty. Save your money try elsewhere...

You get what you pay for
By RJE, 6/14/10
Great area if you like to hit the party scene. A lot of one way streets - typical downtown. Close to the SD Zoo and tour boats. Only dislike is the parking. I strongly recommend valet parking rather than "self" parking. Self park costs $23 while valet costs $30. Self parking structure is a tight spiral similar to a spiral slide at a typical child's playground - 6 floors up to get to the self parking. If you have an SUV, you have a 50-50 chance of hitting the wall on your ascend/descend - a 75% chance especially at the exit - the markings on the walls tell no lies. Valet parking is on a lot somewhere close by - approx 2-5 minutes retrieval. Nice staff however housekeeping needs a slight improvement especially if you are seeking extra towels etc - may take awhile. Rooms are clean. If you have money to spend, I would go elsewhere but if you are looking for a good deal, this could fit the billing...You get what you pay for.

look elsewhere
By Michael, 8/9/09
I liked the idea of a suite to wall off the kids, but the room is basically the same size as a normal hotel room only it has a wall down the middle....in other words it is cramped. You have to take 2 sets of elevators to get to your room (pain). It is away from most sites. They have poor service and then nickel and dime you into the price range of the much better suite hotels in SD.

we will never go back
By Pat, 6/26/09
the first suite we had was fithy, the carpet was so bad you could play connect the spots. the housekeeping supervisor was great she found us another suite on the same floor. I really can't say the same for the rest of the staff at the reservations desk we got locked out of our room 4 times. Then I get billed for the 5 days when it was already paid for @ checkout time by my daughter.

The Lapse Of Luxury
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/09
I can't believe that they want to charge you $22.00 a day for parking, especially having to go around and around and around in a bunch of circles just to get to the parking lot. For the money you pay and not receive a breakfast was unbelievable. To top that off, they want to charge $4.00 for a candy bar, $6.00 for a bottle of water, are they forgetting how bad the economy is right now. The televisions were not in a good location, unless you have a rubber neck, beds were okay but there was mold in the bathroom. I think you can do better, just look around because I would never stay there again, even if I won a free trip to San Diego.

Nice place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/9/09
The hotel is close to the Gaslamp District and Seaport Village. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Our rate included breakfast and a late checkout. The breakfast was good and it was nice to go sightseeing for the day before checking out. The parking was a bit crazy. You have to drive up to the top of the parking floors through very narrow lanes. The spaces were very tight and limited and pricey since parking is an additional charge. The view from our room was beautiful with views of the bay and city landscape. It was a nice anniversary trip hotel, but I don't think we'd go back there with the kids.

Mixed bag
By bitroot, 9/25/08
We stayed for a couple of nights in September 2008. Good: Location Bad: Not much space to park temporarily in the front, exorbitant charges for parking ($22 self or $28 valet). Front desk staff is polite but the competence level varies greatly. The bathroom doors were old styled and not closing easily. One phone did not work.

yuck eww horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/07
If your a millionaire this is the place for you, if not, you'll totally hate it. The room was good enough, besides our huge hole in the wall... i must say the bathroom was nice. I dont know about the beds because i was forced to sleep on the horrible pull out couch.. Everything cost extra, they put water bottles in the rooms, but there like five dollars if you actually drink one. internet access is ten dolars, per day. the food is way to expensive, huge portions, and not even that great, and i must add that one of the waiters was very rude to me. and worst of all there parking garage. If you absolutly have to park in there hire a valet, theres a huge winding spiral tunnel that goes up to the sixth floor, which im suprised wasn't totally filled with broken car parts, It even made me feal sick as we winded through the clostrophobic tunnel. Jeeze, would've rather stayed at sum junk hotel where we were being attacked by crazy people, seriously, this hotel drove me insane, and i wasn't even paying for it! SAVE YOUSELF and stay somewhere else.
