Ok for a quick overnight
By Johnathan, 05/19/09
Upon check in, the clerk was very nice and welcoming. We had a very nice evening. We needed to be out by 7:30am the next morning. At 7am, we headed to get some breakfast, and sure enough, it was not set up yet! A different clerk and the breakfast lady were in a yelling match because of some kind of "water problem". This was very disturbing. We aborted that idea, and headed across the street to Dunkin Donuts. The housekepping staff was very friendly, and management listened to our concerns.

Will stay again if in Syracuse
By Chris, 04/07/09
The hotel was easy to get to, service was pleasant, the room a little on the small side for 2 adults and 2 children, but the room had microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. It was very clean and comfortable, for the price I would highly reccommend and would stay there again.

Will go back if I am ever in Srycause again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/13/06
I had a non-smoking room, which smelled like a bar. The management was very nice, and changed me to another room. The floors need to be a little cleaner. Bathroom was fine, bed comfortable, big TV, free wireless internet connection in room, and an ok C-breakfast which stayed open till 10am allowing me to get up late.

Quick overnight
By MaryR, 04/03/06
We appreciated the continental breakfast which included more than cereal and bagels :) I wish there had been an ice machine on our floor or signage on our floor indicating that it was near the lobby. Great to have a king size instead of two double beds.

Bad Service
By Rebecca, 12/31/05
I checked into the hotel for two nights, not realizing the receptionist only programmed the key for one night. So when I got back to the hotel late the 2nd night my key didn't open my room. the hotel claimed to have 24 hour front desk service but I waited 30 minutes at the desk without seeing anyone. After 2 phone calls on my cell to the hotel, someone eventually came out. Rooms on the street side are noisy. The lighting was inadequate and couldn't be turned on from the entrance. The bathroom wasn't clean and contained hair from prior guests. The bed was comfortable and the flat screen tv was large. I'd recommend the nearby hotels.

Customer Service makes the difference
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/05
We picked the Clarion because we wanted to watch Le Tour de France and needed a motel that received the only channel broadcasting the race: OLN. But we got more than a bike race. My experience with overnight desk clerks is that they refuse to take responsibility saying things like "I'm just the night audit clerk." But not at the Clarion, at 4:00 am, when I went to go for a run, I stopped and asked desk clerk Barbara about late check out. She was charming, competent, friendly and handled my request accurately. Many of the customers at the Clarion this weekend were there for a hot rod show, the Clarion provided a free BBQ each evening for all guests. : )

What is Sue talking about?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/18/05
This is quite possibly the BEST middle-priced hotel I have EVER stayed at. From check-in on, the service was phenominal. My husband is handicapped and the personnel at check-in not only helped us with our bags, but also checked the room prior to our arrival to ensure adequate accessibility. In the room, there was a full supply of soap and bathroom accessories. There were THREE full sized towels, two full tissue boxes, and the bathroom was immaculate. Extremely GREAT housekeeping. All maids and service people were extremely friendsly. My husband, who was injured in Desert Storm, receieved the generous Vetern's discount and the room was only $55.93. After traveling the world, it was truly an expectacular experience and we both look forward to staying at the Clarion Inn again.

Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/04
When we checked in, instead of the receptionist letting us know what sort of rooms were available, we had to play a guessing game. There was no soap at all in the room, we used one that we had from another hotel. When I went to reception to get some soap, the receptionist was in the back office on the computer and shouted from there if she could help us, in turn I had to shout back what I needed. It obviously was too much effort for her to get off the computer long enough to do her job. later that night I took a shower and used the towel provided. When my husband took his shower, we realised there was only only one full sized towel for two people. The tissue box was empty. Extremely bad housekeeping. As far as the charges are concerned, we were charged $71.33 which is the going rate but my husband asked if they have verterans discounts and she assured us that she included that discount. I looked the price up online and discovered that we were charged the same rate as everyone is charged. The whole operation is a shambles. We travel a lot and we will never stay at any Clarion hotel anywhere again.
