9 reviews for Days Inn Old Saybrook, Old Saybrook
Nice rooms, convenient
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/09
I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations as I wasn't expecting much at $69 a night. I stayed overnight on a business trip. The location is very convenient, just off I95. The lobby area is a little small but nicely appointed. The checkin process was a surprise - I've rarely experienced A class service at a budget hotel - very polite, efficient, and accommodating. I found the room pretty standard. Nothing fancy. It can use more decor but for $59 I didn't expect much. There was a refigerator and microwave which was a bonus. Lighting was a dim but soon found out the they were using those energy saver bulbs. I had no issues with noise, heat, water, etc. - everything worked as expected. I read some of the reviews here and if I were to make a decision based off those, I wouldn't have stayed. I'm sure more satisfied customers leave and don't leave comments. It's a shame. The hotel is clean, the service is great. I would stay here again.

clean, simple

We recently stayed here for a few days during our friends wedding in the area. The hotel was conviently located down the road from the Waters Edge resort. We found the service friendly & the room was clean. Though we did not visit the free breakfast in the morning. No problems on this trip. We recommend staying here. The main reason we picked this hotel was for the the price and location.

not worth the money!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/09
we just spent a weekend there and it was not worth what it cost to stay there.the first room smelled like mold and there was water stains on the floor.it was a smoking room without a ashtray.there was no coffee pot in there either.we got a new room and it was better but then i found that i was double charged for my room.it was not easy to get the money back.i was not very happy with my stay and will never stay there again.

very clean and helpful staff
By S.V.O., 10/25/05
My family and I stayed here and it was really nice. They are very fairly priced and in line with most hotel in that area. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and they really try to keep the guest happy - it shows. Location is excellent with A LOT of restaurants near by.Thanks David for your help! Oh and they have coffee makers in their rooms!
