If you need a quiet place to sleep, pass this one by
To the good, this hotel was clean, was located near the airport, had good service, had comfy beds and had a reasonably good breakfast, however, to the bad, its location between a very busy industrial street to the front and major freeway in the rear made getting a good nights sleep near impossible.
The staff claimed the windows were "soundproof" ...... not so. Trucks with clunking fifth wheels, loud mufflers on cars, racing motorcycles, etc. went on all night. Then the rumble from the take offs of the planes was a nice added touch.
The cooling/heating unit was not designed to run with fan only and would shut down unless heating or cooling was needed. There was no way to mask the outside noise using the fan trick.
Then there was the toilet. It is way lower to the floor than most. My wife thought the seat was up. As for myself, a part of the male anatomy touching the toilet water was a new experience for me.
We talked to other guests who felt the same as we did. This Hampton is a "do not return to" location as far as I am concerned.
If you don't like a noisy environment all night long and certain other surprises, I would pass this hotel by and look for something in a less industrialized area.
