Rude front desk clerk
I had 2 rooms booked in advance via yahoo travel. Once checked in one of the rooms had not been cleaned from previous guest. I went back down to front desk and informed clerk of the problem. I received "hold on, I'm busy" reply. She was talking on the phone, with her back turned(personal not business conversation). Once off the phone, she then proceeded to check in another guest who walked up after I had informed her of the problem. I then was handed the key to another room, with no words spoken from her, not even an "I'm sorry". Now the rooms were 28 rooms apart, I had asked for side by side rooms in reservation. When I asked if she had 2 rooms closer together, the reply was "no". About a half hour later as I was waiting in the lobby for the rest of my party to go to dinner, she booked the room across the hall from me to a walk in guest.
After returning from supper the room key from the first room would not work. I went back to the desk and informed her of this problem. I again, was handed a key with no words spoken by her.
The rooms were newly remodeled, extra clean and quiet, with comfortable beds. The complementary breakfast was adequate, though the breakfast area was quite busy and the seating crowded. The only restaurant withing walking distance was a Perkins, located across the parking lot, which was fine for a light, quick dinner. The motel is located right off of the FL turnpike in a very busy area. Rude clerk excluded, that was at check in and kind of set the tone, the place was a bargain for the money if booked on line. I saved $25 per room off the rack rate. I did complain to La Quinta about the clerk but, would probably stay there again. I would have rated this 5 stars....but....rude clerk.
