Quite a suprise!

We stayed in this hotel in October 2009 on our way home from Disney World. I looked for a hotel in St. Augustine, near the interstate and near attractions. The hotel was very conveniently located, the staff treated us like returning regulars. The front desk clerk was cheerful and informative and gave us plenty of tips for seeing the town with kids. The host at the breakfast was helpful and engaging. The room itself was clean, smelled good and was comfortable. The grounds were well kept. The breakfast was far better than your standard free breakfast. We booked a managers special for the price and got the room at a steal. It was worth far more than we paid for it. I will have to assume the hotel has been updated since previous reviewers stays. The hotel is also walking distance to a Cracker Barrel and that is always nice too!

Great Value

Very helpful and friendly staff and great free breakfast. Not the newest hotel, but clean and very easy on/off the interstate. I would stay again.

what a disappointment

I knew things were not starting off right when upon arrival I got into a dispute over getting the AARP discount . The room had a slight musty odor , but we were in a rush to get into town , so we did not complain .The first night in the room I walked around with white sneaker socks on , they were filthy come morning. The furniture and draperies had paint on them , paint was peeling off the walls in some spots . coffee maker didn't work . After a day on the town on Saturday we returned to our room at 400Pm to change for dinner, the room had not been cleaned , housekeeping showed up at 500 pm . I could go on and on but thats enough said , very poor facility , a staff that was totally out in left field . PS I never got my AARP discount either after discussions with 3 desk people.

WorstWestern!

Warning! If anyone in the family has allergies then stay away from this place. I began sneezing after about an hour and checked the air conditioner. The filter was filthy and there was mold or green algae growing on the coils. I called the desk and was told there were no other rooms and that they had nothing to clean the filter or spray on the coils. Also, there was not Mgr. available. By this time I felt so bad I didn't consider checking out and going someplace else. I washed the filter in the bathtub and dowsed the coils with Listerene which did not help. The next morning I asked for a Mgr. and the desk clerk told me he was in a meeting and would not be out for an hour. I filled out a complaint form and left. Never was contacted, so i sent and email to the Corporate office asking for a credit for the stay. All they could offer was a voucher for FREE STAY at any WorstWestern! That is not acceptable.
