BAD SERVICE+SMELLS BADLY
By Chris, 12/09/09
front desk attendants were pleasant -the owner wouldnot allow them to call the maintanace person to reset power in my room which went out while we were away. the smelled like a damp cellar all evening- I met joel -owner-he said that never happens there. I spoke to another person who had the same problem-I refused to pay the ranger inn and was eventually refunded. Also joel ranger would not come to the room to asses my complaints. The notice on the office door indicated it would be open for business at 8AM-joel-the owner arrived at 9-10 am. Spend the time to go elsewhere- or take your chances.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/08
Room 208 The key didn’t work - complained the following morning and was assure it would be repaired - it wasn’t. The screens did not fit the windows but the room was extremely musty and had to be aired out. The baseboard heaters were hanging off the wall. The bedside lamp did not work. Bedding had burn holes in it. Moved to room 209 the second night. Ceiling fan/light missing a blade causing it to wobble beyond use as it might fall. Upholstered chair badly stained and filthy dirty. Next morning discovered the water in basin went down the drain and directly out onto the floor. Room smelled worse than 208. Never again will we be caught dead in Ranger Inn!!!!!

Excellent customer service
By Kent V., 10/22/07
My favorite experience while staying at the Ranger Inn was the friendliness of the staff. They were all very caring and motivated to make sure we had a wonderful time staying there. One evening I went to open a bottle of wine and I couldn't find the opener. I went to the front desk and the lady (I wish I could remember her name, she has long blond hair) looked for one but couldn't find one either. She then brought out a tool box and for around 5 to 10 minutes tried about everything using different tools to pull the cork out. After no success, she went into a back room and came out with a huge screw. We were able to screw the screw in and pull the cork out using pliers! I live in Florida, if this happened at a budget type of motel here I would of been out of luck. Another staff member in the morning was just so friendly and made great coffee. My family and I felt like he was part of the family. He was so friendly and wanted us to have the best vacation ever. We stayed there four nights and every morning he had coffee waiting for us and ready to give us advise on what to do in Me. When you meet the staff there, you feel as if youv'e known them for years! As for the rooms, they are perfect for the savings compared to other hotels and motels in the area. They are not the five star Trump Plaza hotel rooms you find on Miami beach, but they are still clean and about 250.00 less per night. We will most definetaly stay at the Ranger Inn next time we visit Maine.

Great for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/06
Great for anyone on a budget, that does not need any frills. It was a quite place and the front desk staff were very friendly. There were no extra pillows or blankets, but the bed was still comfortable. The location was just down the street from all the major hotels close to the airport. out of the way of downtown Bangor but they all are in that area. Close to a gas station, convience store and a Dunkin Donuts. If I was on a tight budget again while staying in Bangor I would stay there again.
