Ask for a Reservation Confirmation!
ADVICE: If you are going to book a reservation with this hotel, ask for a confirmation and check your dates very carefully!
This review is overdue, but I believe it should be written. Two years ago October, I booked a room for one night in December. I wasn't offered to be sent a confirmation and, for some reason, didn't ask for one. On my next credit card statement, I noticed the hotel had charged my card. Since I had worked for a hotel that did this for one night stays and the reservation was close to the busy Christmas season, I didn't question it.
The morning of our stay, I called to confirm the reservation and was told we didn't have one. They had a "no show" stay for us in October, but nothing for that night. There was a room available that night, so we booked it. I asked if they could apply the revenue from our incorrect reservation to this one and was told to ask the Assistant Manager when we arrived. At check-in, I explained everything to the Assistant Manager, and he said it wasn’t a problem. He would refund our credit card for the October stay and also said he didn’t need to see our credit card, which I thought was odd. He said that we would still have to pay for our December stay when we checked-out; we couldn’t just apply the credit from the October payment to our December stay.
In the following months, there weren't any refunds on my credit card statments, and when I called the Assistant Manager, he told me two different times that this would be refunded, but it never was. Since I was getting nowhere with him, I contacted the Manager, and she told me they don't refund "no shows". I explained that it was made for the wrong date, but she would not refund it.
I then wrote a detailed letter to Hilton Hotel Corporation, and they forwarded the letter to guess who, the Manager, who left me a voicemail telling me once again they don't refund "no shows". To this date I have not received a refund.
