The experience of a lifetime
We were fortunate enough to be the guests of a family who owns a villa at Amanpuri. Although I knew that the Aman resorts were as good as it gets, I had no idea just how good it could get. Phuket is paradise and the Thai people are as lovely as can be. We were met at the Phuket airport (and we were quite tired after traveling from Los Angeles) by a lovely gentleman who brought us to our car (sent from the resort). The seats were covered in a cool white fabric, there was a cooler with cold water, and the driver had a tray with beautiful orchids and cool towels for each of us. We were driven to the front of the reception area where we were greeted by two women who took our passports to get use checked in while we proceeded to the villa. Our bags were taken to our salas (rooms) and our clothes were unpacked and hung for us. We were being served the most delicious fruit , (cut decoratively) and made to feel instantly at home. The whole stay was this way despite that fact that three days after were arrived the tsunami struck. Although we were concerned for the workers and their families, they did everything they could to make sure we were okay. This is an amazing place, with amazing people and a lucky once in a lifetime experience!
