This used to be a good hotel
By JenniferD, 3/21/08
This was my 15th visit to this hotel. I have attended many conferences there over the past few years. Unfortunately this time was the poorest condition this hotel has ever been in. Rooms: Beds have always been uncomfortable, that hasn't changed. Housekeeping removed some personal items out of my room this stay (a large antique deli platter), which they could not locate in 2 days. I finally walked into the kitchen myself and the head chef (Tom?) was very helpful. I searched until I found it. Housekeeping also left a service tray with dirty dishes on it in my room for 2 days (ironically they left that, but took my tray). I finally put the service tray in the hallway for pick up where it remained for about 24 hours. Conference Areas: I believe their thermostat must have been broken because the temp was about 60 degrees the whole 4 days I stayed - very tough to sit through seminars when you are freezing! The restrooms located in these areas were only serviced twice in 4 days that I noticed. 150 people in a formal banquet and there is no toilet paper and the paper towels are left in a pile on the counter - not very professional. Bar: Once again this year the service at the bar left something to be desired. It was the same staff and the same poor service, even after they recieved numerous complaints from our attendees last year. Maybe schedule someone else for us? Guess not. All in all this used to be a wonderful place to host our annual convention, but due to the decline in the hotel service and increase in prices over the past 4 years, we have moved our convention to a different location.

Great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/12/08
This hotel has alot to offer! I think that the orcing is very good! You can relax and kick back at the pool or enjoy a nice meal, shoot some pool, or have a drink at the bar. This hotel is also a great place to host a reception, or business meeting!

Hidden Treasure

Nice affordable hotel. Similar to Embassey or Raddison Suites. Friendly, helpful staff. A little off the beaten path but well worth it. Near a lot of shops and stores. Not too far from downtown Minneapolis.

Don't bother with this hotel.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/05
We stayed 2 nights. 95+ degree weather. All ice machines in the hotel were broken. They did get ice at the front desk on the second night. No need to use the exercise room since at least one of the 4 slow elevators are broken most times. Stairwells are very hot and you get plenty of exercise when you climb up and down 5 flights to get ice. Elevator and Atrium area are not air-conditioned and are at least 80 - 85 degrees. We were here with a group. They goofed on many reservations including ours by putting us in a smoking room. I reserved a non-smoking room 6 months ahead. Took a manager to get that one straightened out. There's only 2 wash cloth and towel sets per room with a family of 4 booked in the room - and no sheets for the pull out bed - necessitating a call to housekeeping. It took a note to the maid service, a personal conversation with the maid, and finally a call to the front desk to get a light bulb changed 24 hours after first reported. The pool area is all tiled - very, very slippery and dangerous. Typically there are no pool towels in the towel holder. I spend 25-35 nights per year in hotels. I made more calls to the front desk in 24 hours in this hotel than I did all of last year. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet is very good. It's still not worth the stay.

This place was great! The staff was superb, the hotel was gorgeous, the rooms were huge, and the whirlpool tubs were amazing! All this and the price couldn't be beat!

a nice evening.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/04
The hotel looked very nice. The room was warm and clean. The big tub with jets was particularly relaxing. We enjoyed it quite a bit. Even though we didn't eat at the buffet it looked very tasty. We just drove down the street and found several restaurants nearby.

Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/04
We flew from Cape Cod for a memorial service in Crystal and stayed 3 days at the Northland Inn. The location was great for us because we didn't have to use the busy interstate for travel. It will be nice when the corner adds a restaurant or 2 that could be walked to.
