Was a great place to stay!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/09
My husband and I loved it! Was like having our own apartment. Anything you could want was their. The condo was very clean and comfortable. The Veiw was beautiful with two balcony's over looking the ocean and grounds. Staff polite and helpful. We would definetly return and recomend to our family and friends.

Great Place to Stay
By noname, 04/30/09
The unit was large - we enjoyed having a 2 bedroom - and enough space to relax. We had no issues with the unit, it was clean and cared for. The Staff when we needed help was helpful. Close to everything but far enough away to relax. We would go back there and even looked at buying. Was not a 5 star hotel, but a great place to stay.

Dirty, with lots of pests and unhelpful staff
By eunice, 07/21/08
While we are not particularly hard to please, this place is far from the 5 star timeshare exchange it puts itself out to be. We had several cockroaches in our unit, as well as other dead insects. Construction took place directly outside our window on the stairs, starting at 8 AM, 4 of the 7 days we were there. The resort seems to be permanently under construction (which is strange because we could not detect any noticable improvement to the stairways after the crew was done). Shower doors falling off the wall. Only stay here if you are getting an amazing bargain rate and aren't afraid of having roaches with you on your stay. Additionally, they charge for use of airconditioning. (Tip: instead of paying, just adjust the air conditioning below 70 degrees, which will automatically turn it on without having to buy the key from the front office).

Noisy Neighbor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/08
Great location, clean, BUT in one of the building adjacent to the #16 fairway, some rude people were so noisy both day and night that I would not return to this property. Subsequently learned that the noisy people were "residents", which mean they are there all the time. I'll find a different place on my next trip.

A home away from home !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/07
My husband and I just got back from Hawaii and we stayed at this resort ! We had a GREAT TIME !! The resort is beautiful, and the staff are so willing and eager to help with anything! We really enjoyed our time and felt like we were at home there. The rooms are huge, we didn't expect something so big ! I guess that's why it is a condo instead of a room...? Either way... it was not what I had expected. Some things are nicer then the things I have at my home! They give you everything you could need (except containers to pack up left over food,if you decide to buy food and make yourself dinner) We loved the evening swims and relaxing in the hot tub before bed. I would say it's biggest downfall is being a fair distance from town, but even then it's not that big of a downfall..there is a free trolley at the Keauhou shopping center that will take you to the pier and it is only a 5-10 min walk away. The trolley will also take you to beaches in town, besides if you rent a car, you're paying 5-10 dollars for a few hours of parking anywhere in town. The Kona Coast Resort also holds many activities daily, and the shareholder speech is held there. It is well worth it to do ! the "diamond Card" will help you save a fortune, that is if you want to do some exciting things. The down side to that is you have to sit through a few hours of people trying to convince you why you need to buy a timeshare...:) And for the record, it is held everyday... we thought it was only Sat-Mon ! Either way, many people in town say its the most beautiful resort, and I agree. It's not full of fountains, and fake entertainment, it's purpose I believe is to help you feel like you're at a home away from home !!

my new home away from home.....
By sandi, 05/13/07
We were in unit 25-203 an upstairs condo unit looking over the golf course and the GORGEOUS ocean!!! I would redecorate if I had my condo there wall paper outdated and peeling in some places, but it was always clean and easy to get around. The main pool is great. The poolside pub had amazing food and a coconut/mac-nut shake that was TO DIE FOR! I miss them already and we have been home 23 hours! The condo is THE nicest of all the ones we visited... near the shopping center, righ up the road from great beaches! fun farmer's markets... shopping and for dinner Don the Beachcomber is less than a mile away... WOW, talk about wonderful! Ali'i drive is a big L shape...The Kona Coast is near the middle ot the L... close to the highway (5 minutes), close to loads of entertainment, wonderful staff too. Everyone wishes you good morning, asks how you are, the ALOHA mentality I craved! Sunset walk to the coast line across the golf course (illegal but we all did it) Sit by an amazing blow hole and take in the sights, sounds, and smell of PARADISE. Meet your neighbors or spend loads of time alone... it is up to you! The Kona Coast Resort made my husband and two teenage boys so happy... I feel blessed to have been at home there for 8 glorius days, not nearly long enough! Watch cruise ships pass by in the morning sun, feed the amazing birds and had a chorus of birds every morning, Follow a path and find wild bananas growing up and down the path with wild geckos chirping with the excitement of the evening! (did you know bananas are the world's largets herb? you do now!) Try SUNRISE DONUTS at the shopping center... BLOWS Krispy Kreemes and Dunkin Donuts away baby!!! Be warned orange juice is VERY expensive... go pineapple if you can and save loads! It is now your turn to experience paradise.... I called 24 hours before checkout to the front dest to ask for an extention from the 10am check out... I was kindly greeted with a noon check out. Please remember to be kind to fellow travelers and staff... it is sad to see some people ruin their vacation whining and not taking the time to see where they are! ENJOY!! The Kona Coast is my NEW home away from home as of today!!! We'll be back, not soon enough, but we'll be back. MAHALO!!!

Best resort in Keauhou
By sha, 05/07/07
I was impressed with the new look of the condo. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and found it very spacious and comfortable. AC was an option, but quickly realized why. You don't need it! Between the ceiling fans, the patio and the huge windows the temperature was perfect. The pool and gym facility were just right. Even though I don't play, I enjoyed exploring the golf course and its amazing view of the ocean. The condo had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our stay on the Big Island and it is conveniently located across from the Keauhou Shopping Center.

Superb Condo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/07
Got rediected to this resort from my original Holua at Mauna Loa Resort due to "maintenance issues" with the unit I was to be assigned. Location is excellent the Keauhou Shopping Center is within easy walking distance (uphill). Every Saturday there is a farmer's market at this Shopping Center (bought 5 excellent ripe papayas for breakfast). Longs and a Foodland. Kitchen is equipped (one complementary 10% Kona Blend coffee enough for 2-3 pots depending on how much coffee grounds you use). Very quiet. Stayed in 9-101. Toilets flushing power needed work (one toilet wouldn't flsuh but maintenance appeared promptly). Some light fixtures needed work, one lamp's on/off switch was defective. They charge $7 per day for a key to turn the air conditioning on (???), since I was redirected here I got this free. If you are going to the Volcano National Park or into Kona via Alii Drive, this resort is easy access to and out. Off the main drag in Kailua-Kona so you don't have to hassel with all them "turistas and their rental cars". Would definitely stay here again!

Thinking about moving there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/07
Beautiful view, very spacious and comfortable rooms. Loved being able to do my laundry in my room. Good job on landscaping. Hard to get toilet tissue at times and towels. Overall, loved it. Two thumbs up. Mahalo

WILL SEE YOU AGAIN THIS YEAR
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/07
It was wonderful; the villas were tastefully decorated. The landscaping was beautiful. We stayed here in 2002 and are booked for this fall.
