Book us for the next 10 years!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/08
I hestitate to rave about Poipu Plantation B&B because I want to be assured I can get a room here in the future! My new husband and I stayed in the Ali'i suite for our honeymoon. The B&B was beyond our expectations. When we walked into our room, leis and flowers greeted us. Our room was furnished with good-quality antique reproduction furniture. Give us a good bed and we are happy; the king 4-poster bed was beautiful and comfortable. This B&B is a plantation house from the 1930's and still has the gorgeous thin-slat hardwood floors. More importantly, the service and personal touches created an atmosphere of olden-day hospitality. Jabid, the manager, greeted us each morning with a bow and invited us to sit on the huge screened porch for coffee. Breakfast was around a large table, set impecabbly with fresh flowers every day. The food was outstanding. Fruit was beautifully cut and presented daily and a variety of omelets and pastries topped the meal. After breakfast when we returned to our room, our bed was made and flowers were sprinkled throughout the suite. We booked again next year; although, this time we booked a less expensive room. You might check on the rates because the average cost is now more than $100.00 a night. However, our friends paid $300.00 a night for a one-bedroom suite with not nearly the character that Poipu Plantation has.

Honeymooner's Dream!!
By mamunaco, 12/06/06
We spent 5 days here on our Honeymoon and looking back, should have booked it for the entire two week trip! The Ali'i Suite was so spacious with views to the water. The atmosphere was truly peaceful. We absolutely loved the breakfasts every morning served by our host Jabid. The coffee was fresh, the papaya's were perfectly ripe and we had the most wonderful breakfasts we have ever had. A short walk to one of most popular beaches on the island (Poipu Beach Park). They had everything you would want to take with you, chairs, cooler, beach blankets, etc. Best part about a B&B is the ability to ask the host for local favorites, and they provided us with information on our favorite beach on the island, some fantastic restaurants, and great local shopping. Later in our trip we went to a big polished resort and then a private rental on the East side of the island. We wish we would have stayed at Poipu Plantation for the entire time. Getting to Hawaii is expensive, and this place helped balance that cost without sacrificing the Hawaii experience. Hands down our pick of where to stay when we return, which hopefully won't be too long.

Our favorate of the trip. Great price too.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/06
This is the place to stay and enjoy Kauai. Wonderful neighborhood, perfect beach, extremely hospitable staff. The one bedroom was big and the kitchen appeared to be new and was well equipped. The deck and air conditioning were much appreciated features along with our free phone.

They have great service. Helped with our activities, advise about beaches and hikes and everything else around the island. Really appreciate the locals perspective on things. Outstanding value, clean, quiet and convenient. We will return.

Excellent place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/05
The accommodations in Bed and Breakfast and the Vacation Rentals are not the typical hotel / motel look and feel. The hardwood floors, colorful interiors, decks and other features make these a personal and comfortable home away from home. Ocean Views are the way to go. B and B has great breakfasts. The service is excellent by all the staff with unlimited time spent to help with activity planning, directions to hiking and so many other "insider" information about the island. The location is convenient to the neighborhood beaches and touring the entire island.
