This will do I suppose........
By cyberbrat, 11/01/08
My room was $89 so Im conflicted about this place, since its hard to find a room on the water this cheap that ISNT a fleabag. I'll just say that it wasnt that bad, but it just wasnt that good either. Our room was on the 10th floor and you could see the water out of one window as the other was obstructed by another tower. When we arrived (with luggage) only one elevator worked so there was a 20min wait and then you might not fit due to so many people waiting. We lucked out and got a metered parking spot. When we discovered that parking was $18 or more we decided to leave the car where it was and feed the meter until after 6pm then make sure someone got up to put money in at 6am the next morning. It was worth it. No continental breakfast like most Days Inns, but you can get some kind of breakfast for $10. We didnt investigate. The ice machines are on 4 of 10 floors and the one on our floor was broken. I mean REALLY broken. The whole front of it would fall off on the floor so you could see into the machine! Ouch, my foot!! They offer wireless internet in the rooms and that worked. :) The computers in the lobby did NOT work I noticed, thankfully I had a laptop and my IPhone. The room was clean (not spotless) but it was old. Everything had a musty smell. No hairs in the bathroom though...a surprise, so it seems that housekeeping does their best with what they have to work with (poor girls). The building is old and reeks of shoddy upkeep. The Teki bar and pool area looked pretty nice but it was a rainy day and we went to the beach late at night so I couldnt really tell. I bet the place gets loud though. It looked like a place where maybe the locals hang out after work. We slept ok...the beds were hard and we were woke up at 4am by a herd of about 15 people waiting their turn for the 20min elevator, probably on their way to the airport. Overall it was ok I suppose for the money I paid but for all the money they make they could sure put some back into the business and spruce the place up a bit or at least do some basic repairs so things run smoothly. I suppose I'd stay again just to keep from having to explore another nightmare of a hotel as most are now on SB.

July 18-22, 2008 (Awful Hotel....)
By A Yahoo! User, 07/23/08
We're here in the past weekend, the outside of the hotel is old...when we walk in the lobby we kinda change our feeling (a little bit)...it look great at the lobby...UNTIL...we was in our room (I'm sure all the rooms are like these)...The carpet was OLD ( I meant very very old) and smell bad, by the way the place was MOLD too!!! When you wash your hand the water hose running very slow and have a creepy sound...The restroom is so small and the security box is not FREE (It charge $2-4/day wheather you open and not use them) the Hotel didn't disclose this at all from the beginning, until you check out. OH...did I mention about the elevator? It took 7-10 minute to wait for the elevator to go up or down(we stay at 6th floor)...and it stop in every single floor eventhough no one request to go down or up, I used the stair more than couple of time and it much faster than use the elevator. Anyway, my point here is that I'm very very dissapoint at the service and the hotel, I feel like I got ROB...the price for the hotel here is not cheap at all...I found out while I'm there!!lots more cheap price and better Hotel to stay than Day Inn Hotel (you can check out Claridge, Fontebleu or Holiday Inn). I would HIGHLY NOT recommend people to stay at this hotel. The price here is not any cheaper when you actually calculated, the place is dirty and mold are everywhere. GOOD LUCK! to those that already booked..

Not a good 4th of July!
By ALICIA, 07/08/08
It was the worth 4th of July ever. From the minute you get down from the elevator the hallway smells old. Our bathroom sink was broken and called everyday to be fix and finally we gave up and told the reception to stop sending people to fix our sink. So for 3 days we had to use the bathtub as a sink. The only pretty thing on the hotel is the lobby however, if you need a refreshment or a snack they are hot and the chocolates are melted.

Nice Hotel at the Beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/08
The Days Inn Oceanside is a real old hotel but well maintained. The hallways looked real old and so did our room. The beds and furniture weren't that bad. The closet is like a mini room that had a moldy and rusty smell in it! The bathroom was definitly built in the 60's. We only stayed one night so we didn't get to see the rest of the hotel!

Never again..
By Dawn, 04/06/08
Well we were looking for a place for one night on the ocean(we were leaving for a cruise the next day).. Anyways, the lobbey was beautiful, then it all started to change once you got on the elvator..after waiting 10 minutes we took the 5 flights of steps.. We got up to our floor and the smell once you opened the door was awful. THEN, OMG we get to our room and I think all the cats in Miami peed in our room and the floor was still soakin wet! I don't know if they "tried" to scrub the carpet, the they were wet! The bathroom was another mess..I could go on and on, but yes, we could of left, but we got changed and went outside and stayed out as long as we could, and as soon as the sun came up we left that dirty place. My husband complained but all they did was give us 10% off our bill. please don't stay here, it's better to sleep in your car..and oh yeah if you have a hi-top conversion van, you have to drive around on the street until you find a parking spot which then costs money!

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/06
We stayed here for 2 nights (package with flight) unaware there was valet parking for cars, this was $18.00 a day. When we were checking out we waited over 1 hour for our car, we had to ask the people 3 times, finally got our car, the person even expected a tip. We had to tell him he was getting no tip (they dont give you the keys until the green comes out). Room was not bad, bathroom could have used a little work. We had an oceanview, but we had to look at a dirty roof, then the ocean. Elevator would work when it wanted to. Did alot of stairs, we were on the 5th floor. The restraunt was dark, dingy, and expensive. They used just the christmas lights for light. The breakfast one was real scary, never even tried it, and then there was one that was closed the whole time. If you want a cheap place to stay, with bad service and bad food, this is the place to stay.

An OK hotel just to sleep in, not for aesthetics
By RedSoxLover, 09/08/06
I was there for the weekend to visit friends and only used the hotel for showering and sleeping. It reminded me of a dorm. Valet parking is the best thing cause there's no garages around, but they are extremely slow. Floor tiles in the elevator were all broken up and on the walls in the hallways, there was paint missing. I had reserved an oceanfront deluxe king room online thinking I would get a balcony like in the picture online. First, I got a double-double room and then after calling the front desk, she changed me to a king room, but still no balcony. Nice view from the room and great proximity to the beach and the boardwalk on North Beach.

Don't Go Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/06
This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, in my entire life! (we travel all over the world) We were there as a group and there was great dissatisfaction expressed. It needs to be taken off the list, gutted and completely refurbished from ground up. You don't want to turn on the lights at night for fear of what you'll see scurrying across the floor. The elevators work on a part time basis. The food is atrocious and served in a cave like atmosphere. Lot's of leaks. The water was hot on occasion. Some of the staff were really nice - the others acted like the problems were all your fault. The reception area was asthetically pleasing (the only part that had any updating done!)but check in took almost 30 minutes. The bed was comfortable. The pool was adequate and the ocean was marvelous.

location, location, location
By Steven C, 02/16/06
ok, the place is right on the beach, at a fraction of the cost of south beach, two miles north of the action. If you don't mind being right in the middle of things, and having to drive even to find a good cup of coffee, and the fact that the place is in need of renovation, than you will be ok. Our room had a fantastic view! But was a bit shoddy by any standards. Paints was falling off the walls from water damage in the bath for example, light bulbs were out, etc. The elevator was the slowest I have ever seen. Drank a cup a coffee one am waiting. When I finished, i walked down from the 9th floor! No big deal, but I didn't want to spill my coffee! lol I give it a 3 because of location and price only. But service and cleanlines, and eminities are a 1!
