A Fine Hotel If You're Not Driving To It

First of all, I would have to say that the staff at this hotel was friendly. When we had trouble getting the parking garage gate to open, the staff waived the parking fee for us. Second, the lobby is small, but nice, and the hallways and rooms are quite decent. Of course the location being in the business district of downtown Wilmington is also a positive.
As for what needs improvement though, I can't say enough about the parking garage underneath the hotel. How in the world this garage passed any kind of inspection I don't know. It is by far the most dangerous garage I've ever tried to navigate. If you don't have a car with an excellent turn radius, you will have trouble even getting down into the garage much less trying to traverse it. What's worse is that Sheraton CHARGES YOU to park in that garage. If they're going to charge you, they should have a valet...... in fact, there should be no one but valets allowed to drive around that garage. On three occasions when I parked my car, other hotel guests that were checking in came up to talk to me in the garage about how dangerous this lot is. Seeing is believing - beware if you decide to stay here.
Also of note is the cost of room service. While room service has never been known to be reasonably priced, $15 for a bowl of cereal, $18 for eggs, $17 for pancakes...it's absurd. Breakfast for two people cost us nearly $70. Had there been more time in the morning, we could have gone to the diner down the street and had the same breakfast, actually warm, for less than $20. I guess that's the cost of convenience.
