Cheap....I mean real cheap!!!
By Julius O, 8/15/11
First let me say that the front desk service was above average for a Hotel at this cost. The reception area was quite small. Maybe because the dinning area was so taken up with tables. I think it should look more like a living room. I also think that there should be someone to take your luggage to your room. I'm disabled and walking with a cane and no one asked to help. Now onto the rooms...the room wasn't spacey..but it was clean. Bathrooms were clean except for the bathroom walls were alittle dusty. But the biggest let down was the Hotel having only One elevator and the hallways are very long (like half a football field). So one would have to use that one elevator and walk all the way down to the other end like I had to do. Security is minimale. I felt isolated at the end of the long hallway where there was no security cameras and consent opening and closing of the back entrance late at night. Some of the room door's seem like they weren't on the hindges correctly or looked as though the doors weren't quite closed. Overall the maid service was good. They made sure you had towels and things but maybe alittle loud with the room inspection. The price made it tolerable. Would recommend this Hotel if your on a budget.

unfriendly. dishonest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/11
The personnel was very unfriendly. Not kid friendly. We used the pool in the afternoon and by mistake left my 3 towels at the pool. When I returned from an evening out, the towels were gone from the pool area. The staff mentioned that they had taken the towels from the pool area and were being washed (very nice gesture) and would return them to me the next day. When I requested my towels the next day, only two of my towels were returned. My new colorful $15.00 towel was missing. They were unable to find it. The staff at the front desk and assistant general manager refused to reimburse me. They claimed I should not have left my towels at the pool and that they were not responsible for lost items. I explained that they had taken my towels from the pool. Had they not removed them, the towels would not have been misplaced. They said I was accusing them of stealing the towel and would not reimburse me for my towel.

Expensive and Unsafe
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/09
I have stayed in many hotels, but have found the service at this particular location lacking, especially for the price. We spent over $100 on a one night stay, and attempted to use the pool. After I got in, I saw that it was full of bugs. My partner looked around to find a net with which to skim the pool to no avail. She finally saw one in an open room, and out of politeness asked the front desk if she could use it. The gentleman to whom she spoke gave her quite an attitude despite the fact that she was willing to do the staff's job of cleaning out the pool. Then, after my very brief dip, I took a shower. The water pressure was a trickle at best. There was no conditioner supplied, despite it being a common commodity in hotels. At night, while we were trying to sleep, the smoke detector started beeping every few seconds. I called the front desk about it, and they sent security down. The guard took our smoke detector and said he wouldn't be able to return it, and to be careful. Then, he got a call on his walkie-talkie, which promptly broke. It was at that point that I spent a sleepless night worried about our safety. We have taken many trips in the past few years and have stayed at all levels of hotels; this was by far one of, if not the absolute, worst. If we spent less (a lot less) for the room, I may be able to shrug off most of this, but $120? Nope. It has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Not a good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/25/09
The man at the front desk was very rude to me, the water pressure in the hotel was very low, there were kids running through the halls all day long, and the breakfast was lacking. I'm paying for a better place - I definitely got what I paid for.

Perfect!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/08
I never write these types of reviews, but I felt I needed to after my recent stay here. I booked out a block of rooms for my wedding in early August, including a suite for myself. The staff was wonderful and helpful with everything. They even accomidated 2 last minute changes to reservations, and allowed the wedding party to set up a Wii in the main lobby since it wouldn't hook up in the room. The suite was beautiful and clean. Everyone staying there commented on how wonderful it was. I have no complaints at all! I would highly recommend it for anyone staying in Mystic!

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/08
This place is worth it, the staff is friendly, close to attractions, and its quite, the only minor set back is the continental breakfast, not a big variety and is very crowded, but the food is edible for a quick bite.

Do Not Recommend this Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/08
This hotel was extremely noisy (listened to doors slam, people yelling, and ice machines all night). Beds uncomfortable. The last night of our stay, we had to take freezing cold showers as the hot water was not working for hours. The breakfast area is extremely small and can not accomodate the number of guests trying to get their food. Would not recommend this hotel to others. There are many other hotels in the same area that must be better than the Comfort Inn in Mystic.
