BE AWARE!!
By CAT, 08/24/08
After driving 400 miles for a quiet 4 day getaway in the cool mountains, we were shocked to find the hotel had NO air-conditioning. We were told the room would cool down at night......it finally did at 3:00 a.m. Window, with a floor fan was all they offered. I was glad we were on the second floor, I do not feel safe with a window open all night. Between noise outside and hot room, since there was no cross ventilation, we checked out after first of three nights we had booked. It was very disappointing and we will not be back. I have already contacted Choice Hotels about this, since there is no mention of the lack of A/C on their web site. I would think that A/C would be part of "standard amentities", maybe next time I should inquire if there is a toliet in the room????

Not exactly what you expect
By JP, 08/16/08
Overall, was pleased. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, and room was quiet. Only criticism is that they do NOT have a swimming pool, but a pool-sized spa. So, if you wish a decent place with a pool, do not book a room here. If you're OK without a pool, and need a clean, quiet room, the Quality Inn is satisfactory.

Good location
By ex newyorker, 07/05/06
Really easy to find, clean, the front desk was very helpful, providing us with a map of things to see and do, he also recommended a great restaurant right across the street. Certainly not a four star hotel but it was fine...

The quality has declined.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/06
I have previously stayed at this hotel and while not fancy, it was acceptable. This time was different. In particular, I had trouble with the front desk person. I requested a top sheet to cover the blanket on the bed because we all know the disgusting reality of those unwashed blankets. The front desk person told me he did not have access to the linen. When I asked him how could that be possible, his reply was that he "didn't care about his job like that." Naturally he also told me that his supervisor does not answer his phone in the evenings. I solved the problem by dismateling the other bed for its linen and resolved to stay at another hotel in the future. By the way, I paid over $200/night for this privilege. When will Mammoth have decent hotels?

Great weekend

The hotel has an excellent location, walking distance so restaurants, and expecially to the bakery for breakfast. It was very quite when I was there, will stay again.

quality Inn, mammoth
By Cynthia Maller, 09/09/04
well, the location is great... right on the shuttle route and walking distance to some great restaurants. The driveway is nice and flat, too, which is really important when you notice that so many of the hotels along Highway 203 are up steep steep driveways and you can kill yourself getting to and from the shuttle. They have free, fresh poocirn in the lobby 24/7. That says it all!
