The Food at the Ypsilanti Marriott

5/16/2012 WOW!!! The best food I have had in a longggggggggg time!!! Has to be a new cook at the Marriott in Ypsilanti. I decided to have a late lunch at the Marriott after trying different places in the local area resteraunt this week......boy!!!! did I have some of the best cooked food I have ever had in a long time.... Try it......You will love it....The cooking was done by Sean....Keep up the good cooking Sean.

As stated below, no towel racks and we didn't have enough towels, only 2 sets. Easy fix. Bed felt like sleeping on cloud, very comfy. Channels were either movies or sports, no in between. Lovely toiletries from bath and body! Luxurious accommodations for the price. Pool was very nice hot ton was on the small side. Customer service was wonderful. Would stay again!

Conceirge lounge was excellent. Lobby internet connection was stable. Room was clean. Easy access from the highway. Bathroom had no shelf to keep towels. Towels were outside. The shower head was too low on the wall. very difficult to wet your head unless you sit or bend. Not cool

You like MOLD?

My room smelled like mold. It was a beautiful room, but within 30 minutes I had a headache, my chest hurt and I had to find a different room. They put me in another room, that didn't smell so bad, but it still was slightly moldy. I am allergic to mold, so I always can tell if it's there. There was a $12 charge to use the internet for the evening! that didn't make me happy! I would be very specific about the mold allergy if I went back -- just to see if forewarned they could find a room that wasn't moldy.

Resort experience for Marriott Courtyard price

My room looked out at the golf course and Lake Ford. I felt like I had escaped to a resort rather than merely staying at a corporate hotel. The conseige lounge was probably the best I have experience. Great snacks and a truly lovely decor. I would definitely stay at this hotel when I am in the Ann Arbor area again. Regarding the staff, they were very accommodating throughout my stay. They had my key already made when I arrived and knew my name. The staff member at the concierge lounge offered me a drink and prepared my plate of snacks. In the hotel bar, the service was also excellent. One last point, the exercise room was beautiful as well. It seemed that no detail was left undone.

2.5 Star hotel at best

For the money, you would expect to check in ON TIME not an hour later (4pm), have at least complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning, pool was ice cold and no microwave or fridge in your room. In fairness, here's the good points to consider: Friendly staff, good business center with 3 nice computers to use at your leisure and nice hotel decor.

wedding, no such a good idea

The site is beauttiful, however I would not recommend planning a wedding here. The situation is too long for a review, but in short- we went through two wedding coordinators- we were promised we would be working with both. We didn't and it was apparent there was no communication between the two. The 4th time the new wedding cordinator introduced herself to me was about 3 weeks prior to our wedding. We had major problems with reservations, honeymoon suit was deleted day of wedding, charges made to wrong account and more. I had a wonderful wedding, but I am disgusted with the lack of follow though and all my time that has been wasted trying to solve issues with the marriott. It saddens me to know that my wedding memories will be tanted with months of undue stress, apologies to my guests, and feeling helpless enough with the service to write a review of this nature. I hope, at this point they follow through with the compensation I was promised.

BAD EXPERIENCE!!!

My wife and I spent two nights, 5-7 and 5-8-08 at this location. When we started to get into the bed we found the cover sheet for the mattress, insideout, spotted, and hair on it. It was obvious it had not been changed from the prior guest. Room service was called and the sheet was changed with a promise that we would also get clean sheets the next morning, which did not happen.

What a Difference a year makes!

Last Year we had our company Holiday party here and then this year just last week- while last year the food and service was good, the hotel looked so tired, I actually was a bit disappointed that we were going back because it was so old looking. COMPLETE change! the had completely renovated everything...The ballroom was incredible, the service was still very good as was the food, but the ballroom...and the incredible lobby- feels like I walked into a modern Las Vegas hotel! and the staff was so friendly!My Husband and I had a great time and we are completely happy that our company came back, I hope we go back for next year as we did not get an opportunity to check out the new lobby bar after our event. WOW! great new Look! Definitely check this out-

Definitely changed!

After reading some of the reviews, I was skeptical. However, upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a door man and the front desk. The lobby looked like sometihng that belonged in an Ikea catalog - modern colors and furniture. The desk clerk said that the hotel had just been renovated - and it was amazing. Our room was good sized, and over looked a golf course with a wooded area and a lake. It was clean and comfortable. The lobby bar/dining area had several flat screen tvs, and the staff were attentive and prompt. Next time I am in Ann Arbor, I definitely will stay at this hotel!
