Novotel Toronto North York, Toronto

The staff knowledge was embarrassing to say the least. Rooms have only one king size bed so don't plan on bringing the entire family...you will have to go elsewhere. Many hidden fees that are not presented up front. Overall, I was very disappointed in the quality and service at my first Novotel experience.

I stayed at the Novotel hotel and it was a head ache from the beginning, we arrived as a party of 4 and they informed us that they only have rooms with king sized beds. We asked how many our reservation said and they confirmed four and had no excuse why they would think four people would sleep in one bed. They didn't offer a cot or a room with 2 beds, so we were forced to rent a second room doubling our expanses. There restaurant also has employees who are confused and can't get prices right. There room service takes 2.5 hours, extra towels take 45 min and the ice machine never had ice. To top it all off you can't understand a word that comes out of any employees mouth. DO NOT STAY HERE

This place was awful and I would advise you to find another hotel. The towels were stained, bed sheets smelled bad, and the floor was dirty. The hotel staff was very rude when checking in as well. I like to sleep in a somewhat clean room when travelling and this place was bad. A rather unpleasant stay to say the least.

I was charged a mini-bar fee of $60 for every item in the mini-bar - items I did not consume! I moved items out of the mini-bar to cool my own beverages. The hotels beverages were left on top of the mini-bar. When the extra charge appeared on my credit card, I requested their error be reversed but they refused. Also, the TVs are old fashioned and our of date. Also my room was not ready when I arrived, so I put my luggage in their storage. When I later retrieved my luggage, they put it on a trolley for me and I took it up to my room, only to realize when I was leaving the next day that I had an extra bag which was not mine. Imagine being the person whose bag was lost over night. I will never stay here again. What a terrible experience.

the service was very good in the restaurant,fast pleasant and efficient.The excutive Chef made our table crepes that were to die for!they have at least 20 breads made on the premise made by the pastry chef 5 stars for sure!

During July 08, we had visitors from Scandinavia, and unfortunately, their first time impression of Canada was rather poor, much because of Novotel. Our first issue was with the reservations,- the rate for the booking was double charged (this was cleared up as soon as it was brought to their attention) But all in all, the booking-process was a ungodly mess. Secondly, although 2 rooms had been booked for one full week, we were informed that the cost would not be reimbursed, and noone in our party would have access to the room after the initial couple staying in it had checked out. The staff was made aware on numerous occasions that the initial couple would check out one day early, and that the room was to be used by family from outside of Toronto the last night. Unfortunately, when the second couple arrived, the room had already been rented out, and we were informed that there was a 'No Refund' policy. All in all, it was quite an embarrassment, as our visitors had never experienced any similar incidents anywhere else in the world. There is no question that we will never again recommend Novotel to any future visitors.

The service was excelent, the beds are so confortable and nice. the bathroom was incredible! i like it so much! the food was delicius and healthy...

I really have to strongly disagree with the other reviewer who described his/her room as dirty/dated. I have used Novotel North York on at least 11-12 occasions. Obviously, it was a positive experience or I wouldn't have returned. I found the rooms to be very clean, classy, modern, comfortable and reasonably well-furnished. The location is some distance from the downtown TO core (about 20 minutes), but is located just off Yonge Street in the Centre of North York. I plan to use Novotel N.Y. again, in future. Jim
