A dissappointing experience.

During July 08, we had visitors from Scandinavia, and unfortunately, their first time impression of Canada was rather poor, much because of Novotel.
Our first issue was with the reservations,- the rate for the booking was double charged (this was cleared up as soon as it was brought to their attention) But all in all, the booking-process was a ungodly mess. Secondly, although 2 rooms had been booked for one full week, we were informed that the cost would not be reimbursed, and noone in our party would have access to the room after the initial couple staying in it had checked out. The staff was made aware on numerous occasions that the initial couple would check out one day early, and that the room was to be used by family from outside of Toronto the last night. Unfortunately, when the second couple arrived, the room had already been rented out, and we were informed that there was a 'No Refund' policy.
All in all, it was quite an embarrassment, as our visitors had never experienced any similar incidents anywhere else in the world. There is no question that we will never again recommend Novotel to any future visitors.
