Great Location but beware!
By ,
The location is great; next to all the great restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. Unfortunately it is the only good thing about this hotel. The furniture is cheap, and the beds are very uncomfortable. The elevator is very very noisy, in fact it woke me up constantly all through the night. The cleanliness is poor as well. On the first day of my stay I noticed sticky material on the elevator call buttons, it was still there two days later. The chamber service could never seem to get the right bathroom linen, on the first day I had a bath mat but on the next two days I did not get one. One day I did not have any facecloths. Worst of all though is the parking, it is three and half blocks away. There is an area to drop off and pick up in front of the hotel, but it is always busy and I ended up having to make the trip from the hotel to my car twice when I checked out, to carry all my luggage. Overall this hotel offers a great location, but as for everything else the hotel is sub par. I recommend looking elsewhere for a good hotel.

Sweet, charming hotel
By ,
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I loved being downtown and within walking distance of great shopping, museums and interesting places in Victoria. The TV was in a weird place and inconvenient to watch, but I had a wonderful nook for curling up with a book and just relaxing. I was worried because I had read such negative reviews, but there were no problems at all. There wasn't breakfast, but the tea shop was next door. I plan to stay there any time I visit Victoria!

This is not a good place to stay.
By ,
This hotel is old and worn out not charming. The carpet on the stairs was ripped at the seams and worn out. The lobby was full of boxes and tarp covered furniture. The lobby has celling tiles missing. Our room was old and tired. We had ripped carpet and a very loud AC unit. We did have a fireplace(with piles of paper) left to burn. The couch was old, worn, sad. The bedroom was not much better. Service was slow. They had 1 person at the front desk and 1 person cleaning--for the entire hotel. It was after 3PM and as late as 6.30PM before our room was cleaned. English was not their 1st language--just to make it more difficult. Parking is a couple of blocks away. Parking closes early and opens late--makes checking in or out -hard. The location is good but not worth it.

Not even if it was FREE
By ,
The only reason this hotel would represent a 3 star is due to the elevator, unfortunately during our stay it was broken. Not only am I pregnant I also have a 2 year old in tow so vacating the room on the top floor was a tad inconvenient to say the least. The parking is 2 blocks away and doesn't open til 9am on SAturday mornings SO remember to ask for the "key" before making the trek with your luggage (they didn't seem to offer it!!). The room was a fair size and the beds were comfortable however if your showers are a decent temperature at home be warned that once you reach a luke warm in this hotel the shower automatically shuts off! No food available after 9pm and breakfast was a visit to Smitty's for us because no one was there at 8am. Great entertainment all through the night (especially if you are in the front of the hotel), drag racing and entertaining drunks, gets better at 3am when the Irish pub next door shuts down for the night and kicks the roudies curbside (right outside our room). Temperature in the room was way too hot and the thought of opening the window was not an option!! Needless to say we will scrapbook our Bedford visit to make sure we never return!!!!!

We loved it!
By ,
We stayed at the Bedford for 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. We were upgraded to a jacuzzi room with a fireplace when there was an issue with the shower in our old room. The old time feel and look was charming. We especially loved having the pub directly downstairs and the amazing Irish Times next door. We would definitly stay there while visiting Victoria.

Very Very small room
By ,
We arrived at the Bedford at noon and was not allowed in our room until 3pm. Room was so small that while my husband was up I had to sit. TV was on a very low table on one side of the bed and you hardly had any room to walk between the bed and the tv table. No room for the luggage. Would not stay there again.

cute little \"funky\" hotel
By ,
We actually liked the quirky design of our room and found the odd color schemes charming. The staff was wonderful. The location is great, right on Government St, and easy walking distance to everything. We'd stay at the Bedford again.
