Will never return to the Dolphin
We stayed at this hotel July 3, 4, and 5th 2007. Upon reading the website stating it was "newly renovated", we figured we couldn't go wrong. Due to this stay, we will only stay at chain hotels from now on. We were assigned room 704. We arrived at our room (without assistance for carrying luggage) only to find the housekeeping staff still cleaning. They left (without finishing), and we entered. The room was nothing like that in the internet ad. The floor was missing tile, the floor in the bathroom had loose grout that stuck to our feet as we walked in it. The jacuzzi tub had black stains on the bottom of it. The carpeting in the living room area was damp upon arrival and we were afraid to walk without shoes. The entire room smelled of mold and the ceiling was cracked with water marks. The only positive thing about this room was the kictchen area. It was newer and nice--however the refridgerator had a dent in it which looked like someone kicked it. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the toilet never flushed properly, and the couch had stains and we were afraid to sit on it. On July 5th the elevator broke down and did not begin operating again until after 7PM on this evening. The parking was disasterous and someone hit my car (not the hotel's responsibility). Upon leaving, I complained to Management regarding the conditions and they credited one nights stay. However, when I arrived home, I noticed they charged an additional $100 to my credit card for incidentals. They claimed 3 pillows and an alarm clock was missing from the room. I am still waiting to hear back from management regarding this. I would not pay $330 a night for a room and still a foam pillow. The alarm clock (which also didn't work) was sitting on the bottom area of the nightstand. Needless to say---the website stating this is newly renovated is inaccurate and we will not grace this hotel with our presence again.
