Wow! I didn't want to leave!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/09
Please don't listen to the reviews that give this place a negative name. This resort is outstanding! I just got back home this afternoon and didn't want to leave the rooms are just as you see them online (beautiful). Yes there is a fee for parking and also a dollar a day fee for the safe, but we found their services outstanding. The parking fee is for valet parking at your call and who doesn't need a little secure place to keep your $$$$ while out on the beach! The pool was nice and the staff ever so friendly. We went to the beach every morning, every day was perfect. I would suggest renting a car if you want to venture out on your own to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami but everything at this resort is as I said before Outstanding! Tikki Bar a must and the on site resturant was exceptional with very reasonable prices. Also there are different activities going on every day. Oh most important for us women is the on site spa...you will never have to leave the resort. I was presently surprised when I got to the resort. I can't say I dislike a thing. Also don't let anyone tell you that the resort will keep contacting you to listen to their timeshare pitch because it's not true. They contacted us twice via a note under the door and a phone message, when you didn't respond they never contacted us again. No hassles....please take the time to enjoy this wonderful hidden treasure! :)

Loved it...would stay there again
By Heather, 05/19/09
The hotel was beautiful! We were told that it was recently renovated this past fall and it looked wonderful. The room was great, the staff very friendly and helpful, the pool area was very nice. Only people staying at the resort are allowed on the beach in front of it. One of the few timeshare resorts that has a resaurant and it came in very handy a couple of nights. The area the hotel is in is quiet and charming. We walked a couple of blocks to the Sailfish Marina to have dinner. The setting was beautiful, although the food was mediocre. The only drawback to the resort is the 6.00 a day parking fee. Will definitely stay again if I have the chance.

SUCKS
By Shirley, 03/05/09
I have not had a vacation in years (because I could not afford one). So I save and scraped and cut corners just so I culd have one. Well I tell you I have nothing nice to say. Anywhere that charge thier guest to use the parking lot.... well. I know times are hard and customers can be a pain in the you know where, but don't let us feel like we are unwanted guests or free loaders. My mom says "if you have nothing nice to say about something dont say anything" I have NOTHING to say about this place. Get my drift!!

Bought a Time Share Here
By Ed, 11/20/08
Enjoyed our stay very much. So much so that we bought a time share. Our suite was very clean and neat, and a problem we had with a closet door was repaired right away. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you can't beat the location on Singer Island. The resort is older, but they are renovating to modernize the facility. I would not hesitate to recommend Palm Beach Shores Resort to any of my family or friends.

Terrible.
By Jackie girl, 09/10/08
Our 3rd time there. 1st two pretty good. I don't know if they have changed hands or what but it has gone way down hill. Ants in the unit, the unit was dirty, the a/c didn't work right, had to be worked on twice, left with wet carpet and huge fan on for days and condensation running down the walls. Patio door had no seal so hot air streaming in, when reported they just shrugged, one guy said both situations were "normal". Cabinet door off hinges, toilet seat ready to fall off, parking is a joke, satellite TV kept going off; loud, drunken, foul mouthed people in the pool spilling liquor in it. Pool was dirty and had mold around it. No maintenance elevators so workers were on the few they have with huge carts and hampers during the busy Saturday check in time and it takes forever for elevaotrs to get to your floor. Why didn't I asked to be moved? I don't think any of the rest of them would have been much better but believe me, in the future I will inspect every unit I check into before I accept it. I exchanged from a gold crown resort(through RCI) and this is in the book as a gold crown resort. What a joke. What did I like about it? NOTHING. Won't go there again. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Exceeded our expectations
By ChrisS, 09/10/08
I really liked the room and location. We had a nice size, 1 bedroom suite overlooking the ocean. Bathroom was spacious. Atmosphere around the pool was fantastic and tropical. The staff was polite and attentive. Setting on the beach was beautiful. The safe charge is only 1.00 per day. We were there with our young daughters and they loved the pools and birds. We would definetely go back.

This place will nickel and dime you to death.
By Chris, 08/03/08
It wasn't bad enough when I heard $7.00 a day to park with rent on a room safe, it got worse! This place is a nightmare for a Gold Crown rated Resort! Rooms with no oven with one washer & dryer on each floor made it a bad deal when they broke down. We left with wet clothes! Everything you have read is true! They try to hook you the minute you check-in by requiring you to go to another table to get the parking pass and then try to hook you in to a free meal and a presentation. Everyday they slipped something under my door but I ignored whatever the bait was. The pool is too small and adults fight over chairs. One man claimed he had 2 birthdays while riding the elevators. They would not allow us to use the carts at check-in as they have bellhops for everything. They will park your car or you can go to god knows where to find a parking spot. I used the valet and even at $2.00 every time they retrieved or parked my car left me feeling drained. This place will nickel and dime you to death. I wasted my time requesting an Ocean view`as I was staring at the parking lot all week. You drive through the run down part of town. The Resort is the nicest building in the zip code. The bed had me waking up in pain as they were worn-out. The outside balcony door did work and the air conditioner blew cold air. There...I said something nice. Sadly unless they modernize all the rooms with new beds, new sofas, ovens, washers and dryers, a new bigger pool, and an elevator that will move in a more timely manner this place needs to be avoided! I would steer clear of this Resort if you are used to real Gold Crown Resorts.

Avarage resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/08
This resort is not family oriented at all. Swimming pool is very small for amount of people that get into it. The area around pool was small, people were drinking and smoking and eating in nearby bar and the air were not very fresh around this pool. No activities for kids in the pool at all. No water slides, no kids pool were 5-6 year olds can play. The shallow part of it was 3 feet which is too deep for kids. A little pool for babies was a side, but for toddlers it was too small and they couldn't play in it. This was big inconvenience for families with kids. Nobody cleans sand on the beach so eventually you can find anything there, but overall beach was ok and water is very clean and warm. Towels you can have as many as you want. Umbrellas on the beach are extra and chairs also. For parking and laundry service you have to pay extra also. Building is kind of old and furniture in the room also was outdated. Kitchen is very small with cook top with 2 small burners, no oven, very small dishwasher. Not enough kitchen utensils and pots are horrible quality, old, everything is getting burned if you try to cook something. Vacation was very mediocre in this resort.

What a mistake this was....
By Peter, 04/08/08
You will know it's a disater as soon as you walk in. It is old and worn-out with furnishings from my Grandparents place. We had 1 day that they had to deliver gallon jugs of water while they repaired plumbing leaks. 1 night at about 10PM the Fire Alarms went off for no apparent reason and the enire hotel stood outside for about 1/2 hour. No explanation, no apolgies, no free drink. Housekeeping rarely showed up and was the main complint through-out the hotel. It took several calls per day to get anyone up the rooms to bring fresh towels, and if they made your bed...that was a treat. It is like stay with The Clampets, only the grounds aren't as nice.

I'm surprised they stay in business
By Peter, 04/08/08
Use these accomdations only as a "Last Resort" The complex has seen little renovation since it opened in 1970. Its well worn carpet, stained furnishings, tattered wall paper, smudged and dirty paint, inoperable patio doors, beds that are collapsed and leaning and overall lack of upkeep: This was frankly the worst place I have ever stayed. And I have managed to mistakenly book some dumps. The only thing in this place that is less than 25 years old was the staff. And that was relected in their people skills.
