Comfort Inn Corning, Corning

Overall very good. A few tweaks would make it better. High beds - short people need a stool - but very comfortable. Bath was clean but as always could be cleaner (just tops of ice bucket, tray under coffee maker, that sort of thing.) Entire property is non-smoking. I'm Extremely Sensitive to smells and didn't detect anything more than the usual closed-room-cleaning-products smell that most hotel rooms have. . Breakfast was pretty standard although toast was too wide for toaster & coffee brand was blah. Up side is that coffee/tea/hot chocolate available 24 hrs. There was free popcorn in the evening. DVD player in room w/DVD's & board games available at front desk. Exercise room open 24 HRS but too warm in there. Pool looked nice but didn't use it. One of the two lobby/guest computers was down. Internet connection was so slow I gave up trying (maybe the cache was full?). Front desk check in was fast & smooth. Very helpful with suggestions on where to go for dinner. We chose Sorge's on Market St. (Italian) - it's been there for years and was Very Good.

The staff was very nice and accomadating. However, the building is dated and smells musty and smokey. In general the facility was clean but room 103 had mold growing near the window and the wall paper was held up with thumb tacks. If you don't smoke don't stay here!

We were impressed with the friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, a clean, well-appointed room, and a really good hot breakfast selection (the coffee was good and the waffle machine is awesome). We were taking a class at the Corning Museum Studio, and needed a place to stay. Previous experience with another nearby lodging in Corning had not been so good, so when we found the listing for this hotel we decided to give it a try. We had such a good stay and were impressed enough that, after hearing about our experiences, a classmate checked out of the other place and moved over to the Comfort Inn. We're going back for another class in two weeks, and we booked the room at Comfort Inn while we were there. Without a car, it would be a bit of a walk to the Museum/Studio, but it's an easy, quick drive. We have no hesitation about recommending this hotel. If you're going to Corning, give them a try.

The staff treated you great and made the stay very pleasant. But the rooms are in need of remodeling. Faucets are covered in gunk and leek. Interior is old and needs to be updated. Wall paper is falling off the walls...etc The only thing that made us feel at home was the staff, as for the hotel itself...it needs some major work.

This motel was easy to locate and when we checked in, the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a pool, fitness center, Internet, and a really good breakfast bar. Our only complaint would be that the desk clerk who took over for the girl who was on duty when we arrived was not friendly at all and acted as though I was bothering him when I asked him to make more coffee (they offer coffee 24/7, which is nice). He definitely did not have a "welcome" attitude. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

This hotel was older, but was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Someone in our group had to switch their room due to another guest had smoked in a nonsmoking room. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating...no attitudes here!
