Worst experience ever!! Will Never return!!
By Candie, 11/10/08
Had a reservation for two rooms together. Had my 74 year old mother-in-law with me, gave us rooms on the top floor, a lot of steps for an older person. She tripped in the parking garage because it was so dark during the day, staff did not care there was a hazard there. Rooms were dirty and smelled bad. Had to wait 3 hours for different rooms, were not together. Moved my mother-in-law three times and never had her room next to ours. Heard the desk clerk tell a customer that the room rates changed daily. Dead honey bees every where in the hotel. Broken glass in the hallways pushed aside instead of cleaned up. Shown a room with two beds and very clean, then told it was the wrong room. Stayed for 5 days. Coffee pot in rooms had used filters and dirty carafe in them, never replenished after being used. Day three came back to the room at 6:00pm to find the towels gone and not replaced, the bed missing the sheets and pillow cases, had to make up the room ourselves because no staff there. Complained to manager about it the next day and was ignored. Continental breakfast had stale Danishes, bread, and rolls, fruit was half rotten, could not get syrup for waffles from staff, waffles the only good thing about the place even though you had to make them yourself. Swimming pool was dirty, only seen it cleaned once the whole time we were there. Hot tub was treated with straight bleach not the proper chemicals. Honey bee problem, found them dead everywhere. Had the fire department there and the police there numerous times. Hallways had broken glass in them and was just pushed aside instead of cleaned up. Tried to charge us for phone calls we never made. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It was not worth the money or the aggravation to repeat this experience.

The Best!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/07
The Days Inn in Mission Valley was just what we were looking for! We arrived the day before and found a room at the Ramada Hotel. It was horrible!!! Don't Go there. So we were looking for a place because we were not going to stay there again and stumbled upon the Days Inn. For $70 a night we could not give it up so we chose this place. It was fantastic! In the morning at the lobby you have free continental breakfast including fresh pastries, coffee, juice, cereal, and fresh fruit. It was wonderful! We would definitely stay there again!

Pictures online look nothing like our room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/06
Service: Very nice girl works desk late night but can't do much for you. Can't get pillows or blankets after maids go home so get extra before thinking about going to the pool at night.Day shift is rude and in a hurry. The maids came to our room once in 4 days even when I notified the front desk of our daily departures and requested they let the maids know we were gone. Facility: Must purchase a card to do laundry. Laundry and pool close at 9pm. If you cannot walk stairs Do Not stay here. I didn't mind the stairs. One ice machine on 2nd floor only. Rooms: Large and roomy but old and dirty. We had ants, (dirty/mildew covered) plywood cabinets, icky sink, icky carpet and 10 plus coats of paint on everything. The full size refigerator was nice. AC barely works. The bedding was gross and too small for the bed. The pillows seemed to have been taken from an airplane they were small and flat w/ no covers... AND... All that lays between you and the last guys night slobber is an old 150 count pillowcase. (We made a trip to Target and purchased our bedding and pillows, along with 2 bottles of Fabreeze) Area: there is NOTHING next to the hotel to walk to and unless you know where to go (as I did) you wouldn't find anything within a short drive either. I do believe we had more than one resident hooker as well. Overall on a scale from 1 to 10 with an average Holiday Inn being a 10 I would give this Days Inn a 3.I'm not picky but I like clean. Suggest: stay further toward the beaches or a few miles east of this Days Inn off the 8 (hotel circle or Fairmont Ave area) both are very nice and convienent locations.

It was OK, but won't go back
By Nick, 5/20/05
The hotel was adequate, at best. It's located right on I-8 and the room they gave me at first was VERY noisey. When I asked for a new room, they didn't hesitate to give me a new one. The new room was much quieter. The room itself was adequate. The free continental breakfast was not good at all. I bought my own breakfast items. Luckily I only stayed there 3 nights, and won't go back. It's pretty far away from everything.

actually very nice
By Mr. Wheat, 5/31/04
when you talk about San Diego, you think big hotels with big price tags. there are smaller hotels, that you hope are still nice even though their prices tags are one-third that of the larger sites. the Days Inn is a nice little hotel, not incredibly luxurious (so don't take your new wife there for your honeymoon) but i was pleasantly surprised. yes, it did have a smell, but it smelled like every small hotel does (you know what i mean, its that odd antiseptic hotel smell, not unpleasant, just what you expect when you open the door).

my ratings are based on a small hotel. it is nice, for a small hotel. not perfect, but nice. the showerhead could have been better, too.

had a kitchen (with full sized refridgerator, microwave, sink, cabinets... very nice). the only problem that i found was that it is difficult to access from the freeway. make sure you use the maps or driving directions because it took me 30 minutes to wind around to find it. afterwards, getting back to the freeway and back to the hotel was easy, its just that first time that's tough.

also, the hotel is next to the freeway, so try to ask for a room on the opposite side.

enjoy your stay but don't expect the Hilton/Marriott/Radisson, just expect a nice little hotel for the price... oh yes, the staff are very pleasant and polite too.
