Best value for visiting Newport, RI!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/08
Great service, breakfast buffet had lots of options. The indoor pool was very pleasant, although the whirlpool was much too hot. Room with two beds had everything we wanted, microwave, refrigerator, and two sinks! The beds were much too hard and uncomfortable. Renovations are still taking place on the outside of the building, which did create considerable noise until 8 pm. It was worth the extra driving to be out of the traffic and chaos of Newport, RI, after a day of touring that city.

We'll stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/08
Accomodations were beyond what we expected. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Rooms were clean. Pool and fitness room were great. The location is central to so many things to do dday and night. The staff suggested a restaurant for dinner that was great and very reasonable. Only fault we found were the beds were very firm. Great if you have a bad back, not so great if you are not used to them. We plan on returning sometime during the summer to do more in the area and will plan on using this hotel again.

Very Nice
By Jessica, 06/17/07
Hotel and room were very nice overall. Room was big and clean with refrigerator and microwave in it. The staff is very nice and there were fresh cookies at the desk when we checked in. Lobby has a new computer and printer for guest use. The only real bad thing was the pillows, very bad. I was surprised seeing as the room was so nice. I would stay here again, but would bring my own pillow. I thought the hotel smelled fine, but my fiance said he overheard the manager downstairs talking about how he got a couple complaints about a smoke smell in the rooms. i did not smell it though. I also did not go down for the breakfast but from what I hear the stale bagels and fruit was not impressive. The hotel was overall nicer than I expected.

Compassionate, Caring and Clean!
By Christopher, 02/21/07
Recently after having a house fire, the Red Cross put myself and my family up at the Best Western in Fall River. I was expecting the worst thinking what kind of hotel would give up rooms to the Red Cross but I was surprised. Not only were the rooms comfortable and clean, having experience with previous Red Cross guests, they helped us understand the paperwork given by the Red Cross and even helped us find local restaurants and even called to explain that the resturant should be shown the other paperwork so the taxes wouldn't be charged as well. I don't know what my family or I would have done if it wasn't for the staff at the hotel. They are paid to deal with guests but they truely went above and beyond in their care for us.

Overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/06
This motel was one I picked because it was between Providence and Cape Cod. It was a little pricey, but still less than others closer to those above mentioned sites. We were very disappointed in the rooms as they were just average with nothing extra being offered at check-in time or in the continental breakfast served the next morning. The staff was nice and helpful, but with no service stations, restaurants, or shopping close by, we decided to move on after one night. I had no major complaints as the room was clean, there were plenty of towels, and the bed was comfortable; it was just that I had been in motels with the same results, but had paid about $50 less.

"Best" Western Steals $, ruins wedding night!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/06
This past weekend I took part in my friend's wedding. My girlfriend and I checked into the "Best" Western in Fall River Friday night. As we stumbled into the empty lobby with loaded arms, 3 male front desk employee's sat and watched as we fumbled around with all our luggage and some of the brides' as well...we had to walk down the hallway for the luggage cart after we asked for one thinking they would get off their lazy behinds and get it for us...you know, SERVICE! We write off the rude front desk experince thinking three immature, bad apples wouldn't spoil the bunch and moved onto our slumber in AC that barely worked. We were wrong and that was only the beginning. The next evening after the wedding and reception, the bride and groom went to their room for their evening of consumation. Anyway, after the wedding coordinator asked twice in front of witnesses to make sure the bridal sweet was cleaned up as the bridal party had spent the prior evening there preparing...what do you know, it wasn't cleaned. When the unreliable, front desk staff were called, they brought up sheets and left them there for the bride and groom to change themselves! They didn't offer to take the sleeping cots away or change the sheets....nothing. No service again. 2 strikes. Lastly, I find out this morning that they charged an additional $200 to my account....can't tell me why the they did it...won't put a manager on the phone....I called the corporate office and complained to them and supposedly will hear back in 7+ days as to why they took the money in the first place...i should hope to get it back, considering I took care of the trash, picked up the sheets and towels, and left the room neat. Strike 3. HA! As i type this, i just recieved and email from another guest who also did not have her room turned over and cleaned either of her two nights. I wonder how many of those 30+ rooms we reserved actually did. As someone who has worked in hotels for 6 years and now produces events in the industry, I can say this was absolutely the worst experince I have ever had in my entire personal life and career life. I will never stay at a "Best" Western again...I'd rather sleep in my truck. Thank you.

Worst Place I have ever stayed . . .
By LisaJ, 07/18/06
There is absolutely NO service. The employees are rude, lazy, unkept, and have extremely POOR customer service. I recently came back from a weekend there (2 nights) and was a part of a wedding that had booked about 30 rooms. There was no one to help with bags, or even push a cart. Rooms were not cleaned, including the Bride and Grooms sweet the night of the wedding. They were told to change the sheets on the bed themselves. To top it off, charges on people's bank and credit cards were incorrect and now have to wait a week to dispute the cost. A complete MESS!!! If you want to be treated poorly and have employees that cannot comprehend the simpilest of requests, the try your luck there.

Poor customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/06
When my bridal party and I were looking for a hotel close to the wedding site, the natural choice was Best Western. We contacted the front desk staff and were quoted a price of $129 with a AAA discount per room. We requested a late check out as we needed to stay until 12:45 when we left for the service. The front desk staff was unwilling to agree to this just in case someone needed an early check in! We asked to speak with the Manager who advised us that the room rate is now $169 and they would not guarantee a late check out. The manager finally agreed to the $129 which had been quoted to us twice before. We advised the Manager that this was not a good business practice and why would you not guarantee a late check out to paying customers on the off chance someone needed an early check in. His attitude from a customer service stand point was ridiculous. We asked for the corporate headquarters number to which he replied their hotel was privately owned. He did finally give the number and the Corp. HQ was less than accommodating. I will never recommend a Best Western to anyone. Their inability to accommodate a request such as a late check out to a bridal party is inexcusable. Never mind the fact that by requesting to speak with a Manager the cost of the room was upped by $40! Believe me there are several hotels in the area which are much more accommodating with higher quality for less money.

Super Vacation at Best Western
By ElaineC, 10/17/05
My family was planning to go to Newport, RI to visit the mansions; hotel prices there were just unaffordable on this vacation. We found Best Western (only 20 miles away!)on the internet and made reservations. The hotel is wonderfully clean, and easy to find, being just off the highway. It offers an indoor pool and a health gym (didn't have the time to use either, but I did see them and was very impressed!) It was wonderful to be able to just hop on the highway to get to Newport and hop back on to come back to our "home away from home." Our room was extremely large, and the beds the most comfortable I have found in hotels. The room had a lovely bathroom, which was extremely clean. It also offered multichannel cable tv as well as a telephone, a coffee maker (with supplies), and a blowdryer (a big plus, since I forgot to pack mine!). We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the vending machines in the hallway, the availability of ice and the complimentary breakfasts. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area. I know my family and I will definitely visit it again.
