Magic in Burgundy

It is true that my now wife accepted my marriage proposal in front of a roaring fire in our suite in the Chateau last year, so my opinion might be discounted. But we both travel extensively and our experience at the Chateau reminded us of all the things lacking at bigger hotels. Personal warmth, attention to every detail, great service, a "can do" attitude about everything and a magnificent property in a beautiful part of the world.
The only small negative was the quality of the cuisine at the formal dining table. It was somewhat lacking given the excellence of everything else, but the food was more than made up for by the style of the dinner (communal at a fabulously set formal table hosted by the Chateau's owner (Elizabeth) who is a consumate hostess. We met wonderful guests and felt as though we were guests at our friend's home. There are some truely outstanding restaurants nearby for the food snob (like us) who also wants to take home those experiences.
TREAT YOURSELF.
