BAD SERVICE

we were about 40 ladies that attended our 22 year school reunion in the form of a ladies breakfast session at your hotel saturday morning (2 sept 2006). a few of the ladies travelled as far as johannesburg, newcastle, durban etc. To attend this long awaited get together. I was also one of the invited guests.
i ordered one soft egg (sunny side up), but opted for a soft boiled egg as a 2nd choice, since the chef on duty baked 3 eggs unsuccessfully. (what a waste) the service of the staff who waited on us was very poor. After 45 minutes and 2 requests later (with the waiters on duty), i received 2 eggs (hard boiled - i might add!!). by then all the other ladies had nearly finished their breakfast and the food on my plate was cold. I was not the only one who experienced poor service. a few ladies complained and had to ask the waiter for milk, juice etc.
after breakfast, we moved outside on the veranda. The service as absolutely appalling!
we waited between 20 and 30 minutes for our drinks. some of us ended up ordering our drinks at the reception desk from the hotel, in the hope of actually getting any service.
the waiters took for ever to bring our drinks and even took longer in sorting out our bills and bring back our change. one of the guests requested her change 3 times from the waiter. it took more than 30 minutes for her to receive her change.
although our morning was a great success (because of good company), i feel the bad service should be brought under your attention. we were all exited when we found out the venue was the �grand� lord charles hotel, but i was disappointed with the slack service.
