Enjoyed my stay for sure!

Good place to stay! My favorite hotel in this area for sure. Staff was kind. Ended up getting this hotel pretty cheap at SweetHotelDeals. Net actually.

Lost Customer

Had three rooms reserved for a week stay. Arrived at the hotel 45 minutes before the 4 p.m. check in. I was advised that there would be $16.00 early check in fee per room. I could maybe understand if I was checking in at 9a.m. but 45 minutes early. After disputing the fee the manager said they would waive the fee for one room. After asking for the managers manager the fee for all rooms were waived but that the next time i had to make sure I check in on time. Yeah right, there will be no next time. Not a good way to start a trip. The Hotel is not being very well maintained. Two elevators were not working and people were getting frustrated waiting for the ones that were working. I don't know what makes the hotel think the food is so great at the Bar and Grille in the casino, but $20.00 for an appetizer.. Sorry but the quality and quantity of the food doesn't justify the cost. I've ate at much higher end and better restaurants that don't charge that much. Hotel has really gone down hill, the unfortunate thing the powers to be I don't think they really care.

Very bad
By ,
Would you believe instead of 3 to 2 for Black Jack they pay 6 to 5- what a rip. On top of being off the strip and dirty-Pass unless it is free and you have a car to get away

Not so great!
By ,
Upon arrival the desk clerk was not very friendly and put us in a room with two queen beds though I had reserved a king bed. Any time that we had to ask something.. they didn't know... or sent us somewhere else where they also didn't know. Overpriced for what it was.. especially the buffet. No microwave or coffee machine in the room that we could use without paying $8 for three cups of coffee. Of all our stays in Las Vegas this was the first and last time with the Rio.

Had the time of our life!
By ,
My husband and I along with 8 of our friends came here to celebrate our 40th birthdays. 6 of us shared ajoining suites and had a ball running between rooms! Rooms were huge, had nice layout, and were clean. Pool and bar areas were good. Not long wait and drinks were reasonably priced. Restaurants had great service and food was excellent. Rooftop nightclub was the topper! What a view and great time! We paid triple the price this past weekend at another hotel and the recent stay was the worst we have ever experienced. We were even telling other guests about the Rio instead of this horrible hotel. Shocked beyond belief that the horrible hotel is rated #2 on this list of hotels!

poor service
By ,
room was nice, but no coffee pot. When i requested one I was told if I was a diamond club member I could have one, otherwise I could go to Starbucks for coffee. Also i made 1 local call and was charged $1.25 for 1 call. I will not stay at any Harrahs resort again.

Rio not really.
By ,
The people were mostly good but the place seemed under staffed. View was nice, beds were very comfortable. Some of the elevators in our tower were not operational. Shower was low flow not very nice. Sink was in need of repair. They did provide good safes in the room for valuables. The mini bar was well stocked but we didn't use it so didn't check the pricing. Hotel restaurants seemed a bit pricey for what you got. It is off strip so you will need to use a taxi or their shuttle bus to see strip attractions. Also, the Mardis Gras parade didn't run when we were there as it only runs on the weekends. Pools are pretty but only for splashing in as they are a bit shallow for swimming and one was apparently not heated when we were there. I was also disappointed that this suite hotel didn't have either a coffee maker or a microwave (though it looks like it was wired for it).

Outstanding...simply outstanding
By ,
My wife and I made our annual pilgrimage to Vegas and on the advice of my Father-in-law stayed at the Rio. First of all, visually the hotel and casino floor is nicely planned. Before our arrival, my wife began to feel sick and we soon realized medical care was going to be on the docket, the staff arranged for a room for us early and contacted the house physician who arrived after a few hours. Tonsilitis, it appeared, had decided to vacation with us, but with an injection and a Z-pak, she was on the mend in short order and the weekend went well. The staff inquired about her the following day and couldn't have been more helpful. If not for the staff providing outstanding and caring Customer service, it could've been a mess of a vacation but we had an outstanding time and I can't recommend it enough.

Admirable quality
By ,
The friendly staff was always willing to go the extra mile when asked for anything. They were courteous and knowledgeable from the front desk to the bellhop. You must understand for the most part this is not a luxury accommodations hotel, it's a fun hotel. It's adequately clean inside and out with pools and entertainment galore. We were on the 28th floor in the masquerade tower and the noise was not an issue.I would recommend paying the few dollars more for the upgrade to the strip facing windows as the view is worth it. The convention accommodations were stellar. All in all we were very satisfied with this property.

Rio bartender committed ID theft
By ,
I ran a bar tab at the Masqurade bar. The bartender charged me double on my tab. I brought this to the attention of the beverage manager (Lars) the following day. He admitted that they overcharged me, but only offered a partial refund. He then later didnt give me the refund and stopped returning my calls. Ive tried to get ahold of other management who also didnt call me back. Also the bartender who stole from me complained about his tip and in doing so was pating my shoulder. I brought this up to management also. I find it strange that employees are touching guests. Beware while staing at this hotel.
