By Lakeshia, 08/18/09
IT WAS ME AND MY HUSBAND'S FIRST TIME IN MIAMI AND WE STAYED AT THIS LOCATION FOR OUR HONEYMOON! IT WAS REALLY NICE. THE LOCATION IS GREAT AND WE HAD A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE OCEAN. THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND EVEN GAVE US DIRECTIONS/ INFO. ON DIFFERENT STORES, PLACES TO DINE AND SITES TO VISIT. WE ARE CURRENTLY PLANNING TO TAKE OUR CHILDREN THERE NEXT SUMMER!

It's terrible
By Olya, 03/18/09
All the pictures of the hotel online do not match the reality: - rooms smell - old building - rooms not properly clean - parking is available from 6pm till 12pm only - breakfast is not included - extra charge for the microwave and safe (you learn about it after you check in!) - extra charge for the parking The only good thing was that beach is next to the hotel. 150$ we paid for the room are totally NOT WORTH IT! Save ur money!

What a Dump!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/06
This was the biggest dump that my family and I have ever stayed in. We needed a handicap facility so we made sure to book in advance. We get there and their handicap ramp had not worked in years. We were afraid to eat in the hotel and we were afraid to leave any valuable belongings in the rooms. The lobby was clean, but when you got up to the rooms, the hallways stunk and so did the rooms. We had to go to the store and buy Lysol to help the smell. There was mold growing in the shower and the air conditioners stunk like mildew. Unfortunately, we booked through Cheaptickets in advance, and could not cancel our stay. The handicap room was so small that you could hardly get the wheelchair in it and the bathroom door would not open completely, because the bathroom sink was in the way. There was also a posting on the door that if you used the refrigerator or the microwave, you would be charged $3.50 per day. This was supposed to be an included amenity. Also, this is not the best area of Miami Beach to stay in. There was people sleeping on the beach and the beach was very dirty. This was also an AAA affiliated hotel. I could not believe that they would back such a dump.

Like a second family
By Matthew, 04/14/06
My fiancee and I came down to Miami with our two kids to do some work for FEMA after Hurricane Wilma. Our original lodging plans fell through, and we were desperate. We got a discounted rate because we were staying for over a month, and even though the room was not ready, the staff even helped to entertain our young ones while we waited. The rooms were a little small, but they came equipped with a refrigerator, and one night the cook downstairs even sauteed some onions for my fiancee so she could surprise me with a nice dinner when I got back from work. The staff became like a second family to us when we stayed there. They tended to our every need, and we were all very sad when the contract expired, and it was time to return home. There were a few disturbances outside, but that was hardly the hotel's fault, and I never for one moment felt uncomfortable about my children staying there. I would recommend this as a reasonably priced hotel, in a relatively nice part of Miami Beach, with an outstanding staff. If you go, tell Michael and Lena that Matt from Pensacola said hello!

Million dollar view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/05
The view from our $70.00 room was terrific! Our son & gf had a similar view a few stories down. The rooms were older, but clean and each had a mini fridge and microwave. The restuarant/bar was good, it seemed that families ate inside and couples on the porch. Several restuarants were just around the block--Cuban, Spanish, and two Jewish Delis as well as a Walgreens, another general store and assorted smaller stores. The neighborhood is not as upscale as "South Beach", but the beach right across the street was a family beach

HOTEL NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/05
By this being my first time to Miami, I was utterly upset. The building is old and ragged. The staff was very unfriendly and had an attitude because our room was NOT ready. The pictures shown are so deceiving. My friend and I went down there expecting to see something remotely close, but keep dreaming. The pictures must have been taken of a hotel in South Beach somewhere. The location was horrible. There are no restaurants nearby and there are wanderers EVERYWHERE. My friend and I were harassed whenever we stepped out. The rooms were so small it was unbelievable. There was a musty smell in the rooms and in the hallways of the hotel. The windows looked as if they had not been washed in years, if ever. After returning from a walk on the beach, we discovered the hotel swarming with police after a domestic fight had taken place amongst a couple in the hotel. The noise traveled so well through the thin walls we didn't have to wonder what was taking place in the next room. The beds were hard, the water in the bathroom was dirty and I would not recommend anyone EVER staying here! The hotel needs to be shut down! Upon my second trip back to Miami, I stayed in South Beath (like night and day)and upon telling the cab driver of the horrible experience in this hotel, he further informs us that this particular hotel is where the hookers and crackheads stay. He says that this hotel is their stomping grounds...Please tell me why I was not surprised...
