I can sum this up in two words - "NEVER AGAIN" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The overall appearance of the Motel was deceiving. The lobby area was dated but not to bad. Once through the doors leading to the rooms, is where the not to bad ended and the "Oh NO what will the rooms look like feelings began" The hallways are disgusting, Old worn filthy looking carpet. Musty dirty smell. Once in the rooms which have a glass wall to the hallway (strange in itself) they were older dated and somewhat cleaner than the hallway, Did find evidence on the carpet from the previous occpants that made one think the cleaning of rooms between occupants isn't a high priority.... My advice is spend the extra money I know I will next time!!!

The reviews were older so I thought we should give it a try for value and locations. Well that is all that was good about the place. I asked for a non smoking room twice. Still we received a smoking room. It smelled like a ash tray and throw in a wet dog too. There are no windows and no bathroom fan so we left the door open. The ash tray had cigrette butts and ashes. (I'm not complaining about smokers, about the cleaniness of the room). Found a dirty sock in the corner. Our toilet plugged took them over 10 hours to fix it after a second complaint. I don't know how the house keeping didn't notice it and report it themselves, but they didn't. The bed squeaked so bad. . . I don't what was worse the bed squeaking or the boyfriend making everyone around think we were having a wild time all the time. (Sorry to the rooms on each side). You sit on it SQUEAK, lay down SQUEAK. I wanted to sleep on the floor. Days Inn welcomes all suggestions so I suggested that they stay at this hotel and see if they will come back. I you need a room for a couple hours or just a over night stay and that's it, maybe because of the price.

The place is about 50 years old, musty, mildewed, have to step up to get into room- never understood that one. There was blood and some other stains/ filth on the bathroom door. I have seen truck stops with better facilities. I don't think the AC worked but we didn't stay long enough to find out. No frig or microwave in the room. TINY room with hardly any extra space to move. Partners with Holiday Inn across the parking lot- which isn't much better for conditions. Only good thing was they didn't charge me for room when I went down to tell them it was unacceptable for us. The guy at front desk was fabulous.

Hotel is very old and it shows. They are a partner w/ Holiday Inn(they own both) next door but we checked out and went next door. Rooms have bad repairs that they've tried to do - not. Rate was cheap, but then asked if we were offred a 'corporate rate', I said no, and it was $20 less and she asked if I 'wanted' it- well duh?? Of course we did. Colleages room was very dirty, carpets were dirty. Just very dated and not sure they can keep 'updating' this place. May be time for the bull-dozer! Hotel allows you to use pool and weight-room next door (Holiday Inn), and they say they offer room service. They do have continental breakfast, but I did not participate in that.

What did I like? The fact that I got my money back. What didn't I like? When looking for a place to stay on spring break while visiting my daughter, my husband and I wanted two rooms, continental breakfast, pool, etc. It was stated that they had a pool - no, look closer....a few screens farther, in small print - the pool is next door at the holiday inn. Also, the place had an unpleasant odor and the rooms were SO out of date and dirty. there were cigarette butts in the hallway, it was dark.... I chose this place to save some $$.... Not worth it. We left there and went elsewhere for $20.00 more per night which was very clean, lit well, great pool, etc. I'll never go back to Days Inn Cedar Falls

Hotel is in a good location but other then that it is a waste of good money. For $20 more a night you can stay right night door at the Holiday Inn that actually has a pool, compared to this place which allows you to use the Holiday Inn pool. So not smart if you have kids who want to go swimming to take them here in the dead of an Iowan winter. It's decent but that is about it.
