Grande Hotel Canada, Rio de Janeiro

I stayed at the Grande Hotel Canada for 7 nights and thought that the a/c room was excellent value for money. I stayed there in early Semtember 2005 and bargained the price down to about 2/3 of the asking price (from memory). The room and bathroom were clean (including the towels), the bed comfortable, most of the staff spoke english and were obliging and friendly. The breakfast was faily average, for a 3 star, although I have had much worse. All in all, a great place to stay in Rio.
