Good Value
By Wendy, 4/27/12
This hotel is very convenient to the Capitol, good restaurants and convention center. All within easy walking distance. Our room was nice, well appointed and clean with a small fridge, microwave and free Internet access (no passcodes needed). For the area, the price was very reasonable (about $105/nite with AAA rate). It is an an older hotel so there are few wall outlets (we had to unplug the desk lamp in order to plug in the laptop computer) and a rather noisy air conditioner. There was confusion about our reservation when we checked in. We had requested a third-floor room when making the reservation and the reservationist gave us our room number at that time. However, when we arrived, we had been given a room on the second floor. We did get a third floor room but it was not a king bed, just a queen, so the room was smaller but, of course, a little less in price. Also, the maid had left a used bottle of hotel body lotion on the sink counter instead of replacing it with a new one prior to our check-in. Parking on-site is very limited as is street parking and the spaces are small but we were able to fit our RAV4 (barely) into a spot. Once you get a parking space, don't move your car!

Greenhouse
By PhilipO, 5/11/08
The maid service was excellent; the desk service was OK. The young man that worked the day shift was very professional and polite. The location is perfect; easy walking distance to restaurants, clubs and sites. The room was comfortable; the bed was very comfortable. I especially liked the in-room refrigerator. On the down side... Parking, to put it midly, is inadequate. It is obvious that they have many more rooms than parking spaces. On one weekday morning, some people illegaly parked and actually blocked others from entering or leaving. The atrium of the hotel, by mid afternoon, turns into a hot/humid greenhouse, making it VERY uncomfortable. This it too bad, as the atrium is a nice place to relax and unwind.

Parking in a Matchbox
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/07
The location was very close to where I had my business meetings. Everything seemed fine except the parking inside the building was so very tight and cramped. Recommend if you have a rental car that you rent something no bigger than a VW beetle!!!

I was routing for it...
By Mandy, 5/10/07
I read all the wonderful reviews on this site and was looking forward to my stay here. It is located in a prime downtown spot, if you are there for business it's great. The rooms are a decent size, plenty of cable channels, and the FREE wireless internet was awesome. My boyfriend and I did get assaulted by someone asking for money, so watch where you walk on the streets nearby. The ice cold shower water was quite a surprise in the morning. The hotel negelected to tell us the hot water heater was broken when we checked in, and then didn't feel it necessary to do anything about it-a discount on a future stay would have been nice. The lady at the front desk was very unapologetic and seemed uninterested in the whole ordeal. Haha. I probably would give it another chance because the price was decent and it's a step above a motel 6.

NICE PLACE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/06
Great hotel and good rates. Paid $109 for a suite. The lobby is relaxing with fountains and palm trees. Breakfast was good also. Its really close to some really good resturaunts. Make sure you give Dragonfly a try. This place has great food and its 2 blocks from the hotel.

A great little place
By Yolanda, 4/23/06
It's a great little place that's quiet even though it is located downtown. The room was nice, a little small but cozy. The cont. breakfast was good. Parking is a little cramped. We did not get two full sets of towels on both days we were there. Made it a little hard at bath time.

GREAT LOCATION AND RATES
By K, 4/12/06
Wonderfull location a block off the Capitol Park area. Easy walking distance to Convention Center and trendy eateries. Very clean rooms and wonderfull staff. Nice little continental breakfast,in room coffee, free wireless internet, daily newspaper iron and ironing board. Queen suite is the best deal.... nice size room with two TV's and sitting area. Disappointments....In room refrgerator would have been a nice addition for a longer stay. Overall a great deal... no doubt the best kept secret in downtown Sacramento.
