Good Value
This hotel is very convenient to the Capitol, good restaurants and convention center. All within easy walking distance. Our room was nice, well appointed and clean with a small fridge, microwave and free Internet access (no passcodes needed). For the area, the price was very reasonable (about $105/nite with AAA rate). It is an an older hotel so there are few wall outlets (we had to unplug the desk lamp in order to plug in the laptop computer) and a rather noisy air conditioner. There was confusion about our reservation when we checked in. We had requested a third-floor room when making the reservation and the reservationist gave us our room number at that time. However, when we arrived, we had been given a room on the second floor. We did get a third floor room but it was not a king bed, just a queen, so the room was smaller but, of course, a little less in price. Also, the maid had left a used bottle of hotel body lotion on the sink counter instead of replacing it with a new one prior to our check-in. Parking on-site is very limited as is street parking and the spaces are small but we were able to fit our RAV4 (barely) into a spot. Once you get a parking space, don't move your car!
