It could be so much more... but it's not!
I've stayed at three different Extended Stay America locations for my job in the tacoma/olympia area and each one is different depending on who's running it. It's like a game of spin the wheel and take your chances and the best prize is only so-so.
Keep in mind I've had to endure them for weeks.
The one in Fife is the best of the three, the one in Tacoma near American Lake is the worst. The one in Olympia is somewhere in the middle.
The Olympia site has no daily maid service so get your own towels. :-(
The internet is $4.99 a night whereas the econolodge down the street offers it for free! :-(
The manager in Fife was kind and gave me free internet because I was good customer. :-)
The TV's are small with limited channels :-( while the econolodge has large 27 inch TV's and more channels.
The showers in the Olympia location are pathetic with weak water pressure :-( whereas the Fife location has awesome water pressure and daily maid service. :-)
All the Extended Stays had beds that felt like they were made of trampoline canvas. Stiff and hard; they made a loud strange crunching sound when you move on them too. :-(
The one in Fife at least had a mattress pad to lessen the stiffness. :-)
The only nice thing about these hotels is that they are new so they look nice from a distance. :-)
They all have full size refrigerators; that hum all night. :-(
and a two burner stove with no exhaust fan (just a blower that pushes the air from under the range hood to above the range hood).
They also have a toaster, microwave, coffee maker and ironing board w/iron. :-)
The bathroom lighting is of the blinding flouresent variety, so if you have to get up at night to go, use the light under the range hood to keep from blinding yourself. :-(
It's like a nicely laid trap for the traveling gnome. It looks inviting until you get inside then it's nothing but shortcomings and cheap furniture. They could have done so much more but they refused, so your stuck with it.
Good luck... Don't say I didn't warn you.
